We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your Designer Dram - our entire ethos here at Designer Dram is to provide customers with the perfect whiskey for their palate. We proudly source all of our high age whiskeys from MGP ingredients as they are known for creating exceptionally high quality whiskeys that are at the heart of many beloved whiskey brands. That said, we did notice that you selected barrels that crafted a high Rye whiskey (60% Pure Rye, 40% Barley Rye), which would result in whiskey quite dominant with spice notes with some sweet notes of fruit and caramel. We also noted that you selected a high ABV and we thus recommend adding a few drops of pure water to increase the overall expression of your whiskey and make it easier for your nose & palate to taste the full array flavors present in your whiskey. We have also just emailed you as our team really would like to better understand your perspective. We are once again sorry that you did not enjoy your whiskey, our team continually strives to provide every customer with the perfect experience.

Hello Betty / Tim, We’re terribly sorry to hear that your experience was anything less than the incredible one we strive to create every day. Your feedback is the first of its kind we have received to date, as you may note from our list of reviews. We are always open to feedback as customer experience is at the very heart of our brand. First and foremost, we are glad to see that you are a repeat customer, having received a whiskey and consequently gifting one to someone else. We are sorry that we had to decline the free sample you requested of your gift recipient’s blend in order to review us, moments before you posted your review. Shipping alcohol is complex and highly regulated - we have to use the three-tier system - and this is expensive, so we typically don’t offer or give out free samples because of the high cost. To the whiskey - we pride ourselves on our whiskey selection – our barrels are handpicked by incredible master distillers and are sourced from MGP Ingredients in Indiana – the largest distillery in the US, and one that is utilized by some of the most loved master distillers and distilleries in their flagship products. They are renowned for their consistently excellent quality. With regards to the proof, our master distiller is incredible in his knowledge of and treatment of whiskey, not to mention he has a PhD in chemistry, and all our whiskey is proofed meticulously to the desired ABV. Having said that, we respect that each individual has their own unique palate, which is the very basis upon which our company was founded – to honor that. We wish you would have reached out when you first received your whiskey and let us know that it wasn’t to your liking so we could have addressed it then, as we want nothing but positive experiences for our customers.
