Booked one call, got about twenty phone calls instead (during work)
Booked one call, got about twenty phone calls instead I submitted their form to book a single "breakthrough call." The calls started on September 29. That day alone I received nine calls from six different numbers (321, 319, 646, 510, 564, and 865 area codes), most flagged "Spam Risk" by my carrier, between 10:24 am and 6:33 pm, including during my workday. They continued over the following days from new numbers; on October 2 there were five more from two others (607 and 541) before I finally answered at 3:56 pm. Roughly twenty calls in four days from at least eight numbers. My scheduled slot was October 2 at 4:15 pm. At 4:18 the Sr. Enrollment Advisor I was booked with emailed that he was running behind and would hand me to another advisor, and said a colleague's call "didn't go through." It did; I had spoken with that colleague at 3:56. At 4:20 he asked me to take a weekend slot instead, noting that I was "in the job apply stage." I never reached the actual consultation, so I can't comment on the curriculum. This review is about the enrollment process, which felt like a pressure campaign rather than an advising call. If you submit their form, expect repeated calls from rotating numbers for days. I withdrew in writing and asked them to stop contacting me.

Hi Tyler, Thank you for taking the time to document this, and we’re truly sorry. Receiving that many calls, especially from multiple numbers and during your workday, is not the experience we intend for anyone who books a call with Data Engineer Academy. We reviewed what happened and identified an issue with the setup in our CRM software that resulted in an abnormal amount of outreach. This is not our standard enrollment process, and we completely understand why it felt overwhelming and frustrating from your perspective. We’d also like the opportunity to make this right. If you’re comfortable doing so, please contact our support team with the email address or phone number you used when booking so we can locate your record. We’d like to offer you a goodwill compensation for the experience. Again, we sincerely apologize for the disruption this caused, particularly during your workday, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Data Engineer Academy Support
