I had excellent service from Cottman of Columbia in repairing the automatic transmission on my Ford Mustang GT. The Customer Service Manager, Daniel Jones, was very professional and informative to me. I was very pleased with the quality of their service and the warranty given to me regarding the repair.

I have never had such a bad experience in my life!!! Some of the rudist people i have encountered in a while. I wouldn't refer anyone here off of poor customer service alone. Not only was i being over charged for lack of work there of and i was willing to pay something just not a full fee for practically nothing, i was put out of your establishment and had to wait outside very unprofessional you all got very personal. I was still going to use your service for other repairs but that will never happen. I hope that you provide your employees with the customer service training that they strongly need! BOTTOM LINE the lady was very rude and Unprofessional. I was told to get out and make sure i remove my vehicle or you all would have it towed. As far as the kid from autozone i got more information from than i did your 20 year tech. Have blessed day cottman of Columbia

Mr. Sims, I am very sorry that you felt you were not given good customer service. We do pride ourselves in the best customer service we can give to our customers. We tried to explain to you what our diagnostic fees were for, what we did and why we charge the diagnostic fee if you DO NOT get the repairs done with us. It is impossible to tell you what faulted and what damage was caused on the inside of your transmission due to it being in an enclosed case. All of our customers are important to us and we came to the conclusion that you were just not going to be satisfied with our reasoning for our diagnostic fee. We did not charge you the diagnostic fee even though we used our equipment, time and knowledge to look at your vehicle. We do not over charge and we always try to work with customers on cost but we cannot work for free. Comparing a 30 year experienced veteran installing a scan tool and reading codes and data (Which we DID perform) to a kid installing a code reader at Autozone is not the SAME! Any legitimate shop will charge the same for any diagnostic on your vehicle whether it takes 10 mins to decipher or 1 hour. It is a flat fee! We fully disclosed everything we did to your vehicle when you came to pick-up your vehicle (Which was not nothing!). The fee was also discussed with your wife over the phone prior to performing any work. The fee is not negotiable because you feel nothing was done.
