One of the worst insurance company they keep raising insurance rate blamming the STATE other insurance company dont do that .

I cancelled my auto policy with CONNECT, powered by American Family (formerly Ameriprise Auto & Home), and I want others to know how the company handled it. I added a new vehicle and my premium shot up well past what other insurers in my area were charging, so I started moving my coverage elsewhere. What really bothered me came next. I'd changed payment cards, and an automatic payment got missed. Instead of asking me to update the card or catch up, CONNECT sent a Notice of Pending Cancellation switching my monthly plan to "full pay" — demanding $1,817.00 to keep coverage. The timing made it worse. The letters were dated June 20, cancellation effective June 24 — and the mail didn't reach me until after the policy was already cancelled. I was never given a real chance to fix the missed payment before they pulled coverage and demanded the full balance. For one missed draft tied to a card swap, that is a disgusting way to operate. Turning a single failed payment into a demand for the entire remaining balance — without my confirmation and without time to respond — is way too aggressive. Worth knowing: this is a fairly recent acquisition. The company was formerly Ameriprise Auto & Home before American Family bought it and rebranded it "CONNECT, powered by American Family." But there is nothing family friendly about this billing behavior. A company that puts "Family" on the door and then forces full-pay over one missed AutoPay has a real gap between brand and practice. If you're on monthly installments or AutoPay, read your billing terms closely. A missed draft shouldn't flip you to owing the whole policy at once — and you shouldn't learn about it only after coverage has ended. At minimum, they should communicate clearly and on time, and offer a reasonable fix before escalating to full-pay. Between the premium hike and this demand, I'm glad I left.

A Telsa cybertruck crashed on our front yard. Glass and debri were everywhere. Filed a claim with the driver's insurance and nearly 10 months later this company still refuses to pay a dime. They keep saying they are waiting for other larger claims to be made. No one there seems to care about the damage their customer did.

Horrible customer service, you end up working with multiple insurance companies and none of them know what they are doing.

I was rear-ended while I was at a complete stop by a bicyclist at no time during the entire claims process did the agent or my mechanic insinuate that this was an at fault accident yet when it was all said and done they reported to LexisNexis that this was my fault shooting my premiums through the roof and using that information to decline to renew coverage.

American Family Connect (underwritten by American Family Insurance) has been the single worst insurance experience of my life. After a major water loss, they failed to provide my family of five (including a nursing infant) with safe, stable housing under the Additional Living Expenses (ALE) portion of my policy. We were offered homes under construction, with mold and allergen risks, and forced to live day-to-day not knowing where we would be the next night. I’ve had to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for temporary housing, and even after submitting invoices promptly, reimbursement was delayed or ignored. Multiple adjusters and supervisors (Kevin Hamilton, Sheila Cuba, Eric Lamb, Byron Rock, Jeff Allen) have been involved, yet the mishandling continues. This has caused enormous stress, financial strain, and harm to my family. In my opinion, this company operates in bad faith and disregards both its contractual obligations and California insurance law. I would not recommend American Family Insurance to anyone.

I switched to Costco's auto insurance (service provided by American Family Connect Property and Casualty Insurance - connectbyamfam.com) for a cheaper rate, but within two weeks, I returned to GEICO due to a series of frustrating issues. Here are some key points: - Their online system is incompatible with the Safari browser. I found out hard way. - They asked my son's residential address proof, but refused to accept his state-issued driver's license listing the same address. Even a credit card statement showing that address was rejected. - I sent several emails without receiving any responses. When I called, the live agent couldn't assist and said they would look into it. - Their website doesn't work outside of the USA, which I discovered while traveling. - The worst part was receiving an email a week later stating that my full coverage had been dropped without any prior indication or communication. This was a major red flag. I had enough and called to cancel my insurance, but the agent couldn't provide a confirmation number for the cancellation. I had to trust that it would be canceled. I went back to GEICO, preferring to pay a couple of hundred dollars extra for six months of insurance for the peace of mind that I will be well taken care of.

Company is denying a hail damage claim, saying it's manufacturer defects. Further, they hired an "engineering" firm with a D- BBB rating, with over 137 judgements against them to "review the structural damage" to our siding. Our opinion? Stay away from Connect by affairs indurance!
