My review reflects my dog's actual experience with Chi Dog, not a misunderstanding of the company's claimed differences from other fresh-food brands. Before switching to Chi Dog, my dog was healthy, had excellent digestion, and did very well on other high-quality, fresh-food diets. After switching to Chi Dog, my dog began experiencing significant digestive issues and poor bowel movements that had not previously been a problem. I understand that Chi Dog emphasizes its whole-food ingredients, lack of organ meats, and Holistic Food Therapy approach. However, these marketing distinctions do not change my dog's experience or, in my opinion, justify the premium price. I found nothing about the product that distinguished it meaningfully from other high-quality, fresh-frozen dog foods I have purchased. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that I switched to Chi Dog based on a veterinarian's recommendation. That veterinarian practices within a private-equity-affiliated veterinary network, which makes me even more interested in understanding the basis for such recommendations. Ultimately, my dog was thriving before this dietary change and developed digestive problems after switching to Chi Dog. For the price, I expected better results, not a decline in digestive health. I would not purchase this food again or recommend it based on my experience.

We did want to clarify that there are some important differences between Chi Dog and many other fresh-food options. Our recipes are made with human-grade, whole-food ingredients that are gently cooked fresh, and we do not use organ meats. Organ meats can be particularly concentrated sources of nutrients such as copper and, depending on the organ and cut, can also contribute additional fat. We intentionally formulate without them and use high-quality muscle meats along with fresh vegetables and grains. Our recipes are also formulated with a specific whole-food and Holistic Food Therapy approach rather than simply being another frozen fresh food. Every dog is different, however, and even a high-quality food may not agree with every dog’s digestive system. We’re sorry this was your experience and appreciate you giving Chi Dog a try.

My 13.5 year old Havanese has stage 2…
My 13.5 year old Havanese has stage 2 kidney disease. The vet said it was time to transition him to a renal diet. She suggested Chi Dog Water formula. I placed the order. Product arrived quickly solidly frozen. My dog loves the food and hopefully it will slow the progression of his kidney disease.

Pancreatitis Symptoms Gone
My 6lb. Chihuahua is doing SO much better after being on ChiDog for a couple of weeks. She began to improve immediately. I am happy with the quality and ingredients of this food. It's the best I've found for dogs with pancreatitis or those who suffer with the level of fat in even the best dog foods.

Absolutely recommend!
I am absolutely pleased with how Chi Dog handled my delivery issues. My dog loves their food more than any other dog food delivery we had tried. Chi Dog is very responsive to all of my questions and I would definitely recommend them.

My chihuahua is picky
My chihuahua is picky. He soon gets sick of the food and we’ve tried almost every one. He loves your food. I’m ready to order again but need to talk to someone. The shipment came in a day or two and frozen solid despite the horrific heat wave we’re experiencing.

Great Results!
Number one reason for Chi is the results in my dogs life line. She is a mixed Beagle / Bull Dog and she has allergies. We noticed her shots that she needed for allergies monthly , is now qtrly so reducing costs on vet visits. Secondly, her age is now 14 yrs old and she has plenty of energy and looks great. People always tell us she looks great for her age and her health problems are minimal.
