CGTraderReviews of cgtrader.com

Everything was great. I buy models here from time to time, and both the quality and prices are great. However, when it came time to pay, I had issues with the cards I had previously used without any problem. Something about anti-fraud policies came up, so I had to pay through PayPal using that exact same card—otherwise, I would have had to buy from somewhere else.

le site semble down depuis quelques semaines, impossible de finaliser un achat, toujours le message "too many request" qui apparait empêchant de modifier son panier ou de finaliser un achat alors que ça marchait très bien avant

I love their products, but customer service leaves a room for improvement. In my case I purchased a few items that claimed to be in a format that my apps can handle. After I tried to impart them all materials gone wrong or inexistent. I reached out to their customer service and creators directly. One of the creators honestly tried to help me and even offered a refund, while the other one went plain rude and stopped responding. The official customer support rep stated that since the original artwork was created with tolls different from what I use, the mismatch frequently happens and on that ground they cannot issue a refund. Furthermore, they stated they need the seller's approval to issue the refund. I understand a mismatch and reassigning textures manually, but when the model has a texture that is not there, I can't do much. Additionally, I thought that if the service states that a model exists in a certain formal, one would expect it will work. Essentially, I am to blame. Not happy.

Searching is terrible. I exclude ai generated mostly e but they still appear. I search for spaceship and I get desk lamps in the results. I sort by newest and see models at the top that were created years ago.

The model I purchased was made in Blender, but the FBX file came without the textures. This caused a major problem.

Customer service is quite responsive and helpful. Also, I like FBX quality check procedure. Since FBX is very important interchangeable format. If FBX format of a model is flawless, then definitely everything is OK with the native file. The only thing I don't like in CGTrader is dishonest sellers. When you live honest review about the model that you purchased, instead of communicating with you and trying to solve the problems, they remove the model from the stock and then re-uploading them as a new stock (sometimes with a higher price). Thus, showing their disrespect to the customer. I think CGTrader should develop some procedures against such frauds. For example, reviewed models can be revised but can not be removed and re-uploaded as a new model.

An nice library for 3D models. In comparisson to Turbosquid I tend to chose CGT 50% which means quite a lot! There have been some issues with files containing bad scripts. Or files containing wierd topology or no textures. In that case you are on your own and have to talk to the maker directly. Do not expect much from support there. So to all reading this.. check the files and read the description super carefully, before you buy or use them in production and make sure you have everything in place to protect yourself, because they will not issue a refund in such an event. There is not much help from support there. They will even possibly tell you there was nothing wrong ... no malicious script and then fix the upload the next day. So buying is a bit of a gamble sometimes, and their payment options sometimes fail, apart from PayPal which works best, but in general; I'm happy with the content and the service. There are many good models for a fair price. Just don't be too picky. If you want to be sure if the quality and have premium support. Chose Turbosquid. I will still continue to use the service even though there were some less nice experiences

I've been using CGTrader for some time now and purchased many STL model files over 18 months. They pitch themselves selling supposedly top end stuff, which you pay a premium for and their really top quality designs are about 9/10. Unfortunately about 25% of the low end designs are not up to par. Kind of end of final semester test models, full of glitches ... unfinished afterthoughts and upgrades. And a loyalty system that just makes sure it never pays out on any of your purchases, despite showing the amount that can't be spent. All in all one of the better bigger Computer Graphics 3D modeling and design platforms. That needs to seperate the wheat from the chaff if it wants to capture the top end of the home/office environment
