I have had my BCR-40U for about 6years. When I ordered the repeater Bridge Com never sent me a tracking number, when I asked about a tracking a number I was told "you well get it when it is delivered" STRIKE ONE. When the repeater was delivered it had no manuals with it ,and it was set up all wrong. Customer service was not helpful at all. STRIKE TWO. I put this repeater on the shelf and left it . With in the last year and a half I pulled it off the shelf and took a whole winter to get it work. I finally got it to work. It was on the air for 1 year when it stopped working. Super long story short, the transmitter burned up,to fix it would require a new transmitter ,then I would have to send it back to Bridge Com for reprogramming because they put a code in the repeaters, so you have to send it back to them for repairs at $120 an hour. STRIKE THREE. After some research this 40 watt repeater was to only used at 20 watts of. Bottom line with parts, shipping and labor its going to come close to $1,000.00 to fix it.

Hi Mark, I'm glad we can help you and thank you for the details. 1. On 11/29/2019 - You ordered: BCR-40U (400-470 MHz) UHF Repeater + FREE hand mic, FREE Custom Programming, and FREE programming kit 2. This also included a CAT controller cable. 3. Supplied credentials on 12/6/2019 -were: TX:445.500 RX:440.500 PL TONES TX: 94.8 RX:94.8 PWR: 40W We didn't have your CAT controller, so we couldn't set it completely up for you. There was a supplied APP note on setting the unit up with Amateur radio Controllers. 4. Tracking was sent to your supplied email and SMS on 12/9/2019. We updated you both SMS and Email. Also on 12/11/2019 - you were sent SMS and email updates about the delivery. This was all automated. We did send you tracking. - We apologize if this was never communicated. 5. The manuals were provided CDROM in PDF. They are also available on our website. 6. We set the repeater up per your supplied credentials. It has been so long, we're not sure what happened. We're not sure how you set it up on your end as you had ordered a CAT cable. 7. Without having the unit here, it's impossible to tell why the transmitter failed. It could be for a variety of reasons. Was the there a lightning arrestor installed in the feedline? Did VSWR checkout or change, duplexer okay?, feedline, etc all stay in good order? It will run at 40W. 8. Yes, like most businesses, we do have labor charges for repairing and servicing products. Your unit had a 2-year warranty that was good until 2021. There's a variety of reasons the transmitter could have failed. Until we see the unit, it's all speculation. We're here to help you if you still need help. Team BC.
