BookaroomReviews of bookaroom.com

DO NOT use this company. I booked a room not realizing they were a third party. Realizing the charge was more than I anticipated, I asked the gentleman for the breakdown of the room charges - He NEVER mentioned his fee of $15.99 for the booking but assured me that I would get a TOTAL refund if I needed to cancel before the day of my reservation. After the call, I looked at the confirmation email and it showed the reservation booking fee. I specifically asked for the breakdown of the fees while on the call. NEVER was a booking fee mentioned!! VERY misleading and I'm very disappointed in the agent that mislead me - even after asking. It's sad that he was dishonest. I immediately cancelled my reservation but was never refunded the $15.99 booking fee. He mislead me on the TOTAL refund policy as well. Had I known there was a fee associated with his service, I would have never booked and would have realized immediately I was speaking with a third party. Upon cancelling my reservation and asking them to waive the $15.99 booking fee, they provided me with a telephone number of the company who handles their processing fee ....when you call that number, it goes straight to a recording. DISHONEST. This is something I could have handled on my own by booking online but had a few questions to ask about military discounts and therefore the only reason I called. After looking back on the conversation, the agent was aware that I thought I was speaking to the front dest at the hotel. He just ignored my questions and told me that I could provide my I.D upon checking in & quickly reminded me that I would get a total refund if I needed to cancel my reservation.

I did not realize I was not booking with the hotel directly. I received a service fee of over 50% of the price of the rooms due to this being a 3rd party. I called and was offered a $100 credit for a $1,800 fee. This is unacceptable, how are they even allowed to stay in business with such deceptive practices.

Like others I would give no stars if I could. Booked a triple room at a hotel in Vienna. Less than 24hrs later rang to change the booking for the following week due to my daughter having an unscheduled exam. This was 2 months in advance. They said I couldn't change and if I cancelled I would lose $100% of my money. $2000 I have lost. Like others I thought I was booking the hotel directly. Only when I phoned I realised my mistake. They are so misleading as everything looks so realistic. Why are they not being shut down? I don't understand why they are still allowed to operate. They are a scam!

I would leave zero stars if I could. Absolute scam. Added on another £50 to booking. Very deceptive, looked as though I was booking directly through The Holiday In. But the site was intercepted. They then add on fees that are not quoted. I emailed and received an automated email. Really bad customer service, just a blanket email. Called Holiday Inn themselves and they were apologetic but it is out of their hands. Just beware everyone I think of myself as savvy but have been totally scammed. Booking.com is a much better route and free cancellation. Do not book with this company!!

Up front cost did not include 50 dollars a day for tax and recovery big rip off.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO BOOK HOTELS!!!! The company acts as a phishing site, it appears to be the actual hotel but it intercepts your reservation form and submits it under book-a-room.com. Wrong dates were reserved (not what I had chosen). Will not allow me to move to the correct dates or refund my money. They lied saying they would have to call the hotel and get their permission to change it. I told them who I spoke with so they could call and reschedule. They then told me they had to send an email to their 3rd party and ask to have the amount refunded. They aren't allowed to tell me who their 3rd party company is. They can't call out only receive calls. I told them I would have a representative call them and once again was told they could not handle the situation that way. I'm basically screwed out the money that was charged on my card.

I was twice quoted a price 60% below what they wanted to charge after I gave them purchase info. They lied about having only 2 rooms available when the facility had only 50% occupancy. They also lied saying there was a festival when there was not. Further, they threatened a 25% higher rate if we didn’t place the order immediately. These are deceptive practices.

Booked a room at the Hyatt Cambridge, MD for 2 rooms in May. Went through the Hyatt website and was diverted to what turns out to be "Book aroom.com". Never knew this until we called to confirm our reservations for one night in September and learned from the Hyatt that there was a third party involved. Never received any confirmation info from "Bookaroom.com" Then we found out that the reservation is non-refundable or that the date could be moved up a day because of a hurricane rain event coming on the original date of our stay. Bookaroom.com will not call the Hyatt to see if the room can be moved up a day and the Hyatt won't call Bookaroom.com either. Neither party seems to value the fact that a customer needs assistance in resolving this matter an we are stuck. Going to look into suing the Hyatt and Book aroom.com for false advertising and fraud since there was no disclosure that Bookaroom.com was acting as an authorized agent for the Hyatt Hotel. Selected the Hyatt instead of Motel 6 because of their heritage and standing in the hotel industry. Should have booked with Motel 6 - they care about their customers and provide better "CUSTOMER SERVICE". Bookaroom.com is exactly what the name sounds like - a scam outfit. Looks like the Hyatt is not much better as they won't make any effort to resolve a simple issue. BEWARE of both.
