By far the absolute worst bank I’ve ever banked at in my 45+ years of banking . And you have to go online and fill out a bunch of paperwork just to close your accounts. Never again and I tell anyone who is considering this bank DONT DO IT you’ll regret it.

I have been a member of BECU since 1983. 1. I have purchased 7 homes, BECU did not finance any of them. Even when I had more money in the bank then the value of the home I wanted to purchase. I was told, "I could go gamble my money away in one night.". 2. When I was joint on my daughter's accounts and she started going sideways, I went in person and had myself removed from her accounts. They only removed me from one of her accounts. I got stuck with her mess. I paid it. 3. For the 3rd party data breach BECU had, they hired another 3rd party to take the phone calls. The 3rd party BECU hired to take the calls had no information and could not answer any questions. 4. BECU does not accept the legal court documents signed by the Judge/Commissioner for trusts and power of attorney. They require you to fill out their documents, a painful and onerous experience. 5. I have multiple power of attorneys with BECU. It is hit and miss if they can find them in their system. Sometimes they put the information on my account, sometimes they put the information on the person's account I am POA for. I shouldn't have to carry the originals with me after they are recorded with the financial institution. 6. The VISA rewards program changed entirely without notice. All history has been lost. 7. You can't get a person on the phone after hours, ever. 8. BECU limits your ATM withdrawals if you don't call. You can't call, because they don't answer the phone. 9. I had a "0" balance on my VISA and a high limit. I went to pay for new teeth. My card was declined. 10. I went to BECU and closed five accounts including my VISA, it's no good to me if I can't use it.

I was previously an employee. Last year, an African female was appointed to replace the outgoing CIO (not to disparage Africans or females), just illustrating the diversity, equity, and inclusion mindset allowed for a diversity hire. approximately 142 people's positions were eliminated last year. Now, BECU is barely able to keep the lights on and customer satisfaction has suffered tremendously. The CEO is outrageously absent and the board of directors is running scared as they used to be a bunch of white men. Given today's politics these cowards are allowing a once great financial institution to circle the drain with the diversity, equity, and inclusion mindset. There are already laws in place to prohibit discrimination yet this "woke" company is now practicing reverse discrimination by awarding mortgages to those that cannot afford nor deserve them whilst holding whites to a different standard. Go elsewhere!

BECU - the downhill descent continues. Randomly heard notice that my account was flagged for fraud since I made an online purchase in AZ??? No phone call or text, just deactivated cards on my primary checking account. The security team tried to unblock and basically everything was frozen for weeks. They didn't know what was going on and asked to get a whole new card and redo all my automatic payments. This caused me to leave BECU after 10+ years. Do yourself a favor and save your time by going elsewhere. Huge disappointment and bad customer service overall.

They do not offer ACH payments out of business accounts! Never heard of such a thing but got all the way thru opening a business account and asked to set up my ACH right away for several lease payments out of state and was told no such service offered and they were thinking of adding it in future. Wth? Not a good bank for small businesses.

So far? Not a fan. Getting a car loan through the bank my husband has had for 12 years was very simple. We were approved for the amount we needed and went to purchase the car we needed. The banker however did not disclose all the requirements needed to actually use the loan! She informed us the years it needed to be. Great! That was it. Actually we also needed to fall in the parameters of miles. Not told by the banker in getting the loan nor was it on any of the approved Bank paperwork provided.

What a scam!!!!! After opening my account within a week a fraudulent charge for $380.00 was made to my account after filling a fraud complaint they never got back to me after the 10 days they promised. Meanwhile every time I wanted to use my card it would decline after being promised by my banker everything’s good. I literally have never been embarrassed to make a purchase to be shut down constantly, meanwhile they make you state all your information verbally which doesn’t sit well with me. They steal from customers and the service is “horrible” not to mention the embarrassment of not being able to access your funds without prior notice. Not being able to purchase milk at $4.99 when I have $1000 in my account is unexplainable hands down!!!!!!!
