Great place to do all of your banking. I’ve been with Wells Fargo for 20 years, and recently BECU approved me for a 50k auto loan, when everyone else turned us down, they gave us a chance. Decided to cancel out my Wells Fargo and did my banking with BECU. Nothing but great experiences, thus far!

Purchased an RV through BECU, 1st time I tried to make a payment by phone, they told me they couldn’t take a payment by phone until it’s past due. 2nd time I tried to pay from my Navy Federal account everything went through but was kicked back 5 days later, so back on the phone for the 3rd time and they took my payment, only took 3 tries over 6 days. The 4th time I tried to make a payment they said my mothers madden name was incorrect and wouldn’t take a payment, here I set in a branch trying for the 5 th time to make a payment…..wish me luck. Update. The next day I received a call from Kaitlin Walker who wanted to follow up with my bad experience. She was very helpful, after worked with me and after listening to my concern came up with a solution that isn’t perfect but works, she handled herself with charm and concern. Albeit that BECU has horrible policies, everyone I worked with was respectful and showed genuine concern. So the 1 star rating has been upgraded to a 3 star.

Non-existent merchant services (dedicated phone number, teller, agent) even though they offer business banking. I have had my business banking with BECU and discovered they charged my account $703.21 for a check written for $283.71 back in 2019. They said oh, it was a misscan. My accountant just discovered accidentally that Boeing charged my account twice for three payroll checks. If they had charged them twice at the same time, I would have seen it. But the charges were a month apart, appearing on two different months. There was no apology. They refunded eventually. I have 5 large charges to my account one week part and have no explanation of what they are. BECU is taking their sweet time to try and tell me who charged those amounts to my account. I have notified them that the initial splash photo on their business web site where a person's shoes are displayed in front of a beautiful vista is offensive. I said you don't put a pair of used shoes in front of someone's face. It is rude and undesirable, yet they continue to display it. Here's my biggest problem. If they are double paying the same check and showing them on separate months, that means they are doing it intentionally. I wish I could download the statements in excel format so that I can detect identical payments and find their errors myself, but they only provide PDF which is of no use when you have to read through hundreds of checks per month, over multiple months to find errors by BECU. BECU has been good for my personal account. It is just that they are not ready to offer business services and should just keep to personal banking and, from what other comments indicate, work on that to try and improve it for all of their retail banking services.

Tired of seeing two guys raising a child in their commercials!

Wow, I have never dealt with a bank that actually lied to me over multiple days. This used to be an amazing place, but it looks like the doors are blowing of this hink of junk as well, if you have more than 250,000 you might want to check the news and look somewhere else. I will never recommend them again and am foolish for doing so in the past. Ripped up my cards. Good riddance, aweful.

This credit union was okay while we used it, but they are an absolute NIGHTMARE when you try to close an account. We struggled for months to close our accounts, and they're STILL requesting more faxes. Meanwhile, since they kept our credit card account open, we owed them 4¢. Yes, 4 pennies. Since they had closed our checking account and we don't live in the state any more, we had no way to pay them. We taped 4 pennies to the letter and mailed it in—but apparently no one opened this letter. They reported us to the credit bureaus, and now our credit score has tanked by over 100pts—for 4 pennies. And they STILL won't close our accounts. Nightmare. Be warned!

A shout out to Dallas at the BECU Ballard branch. I had changed the name of two accounts, and was unable to sign up for online banking over the weekend. With one phone call she was able to resolve the issue and help get me signed up. Thanks!

If I could give them a MINUS number I would! They were provided insurance at inception of loan. I get a notice they need evidence of Insurance again. I upload to their site as instructed. Again, they are asking for it. Uploaded a 3rd time. they say it takes 3-5 business days to review. All the while it's now been over two months and my account shows I still owe for their forced place insurance. I told them I'm not hanging up until you can confirm this is resolved. They want to send you back to their site, I said absolutely not! The system is broken! If I ever need an auto loan again I will NOT be using them. HORRIBLE!! Sitting on hold as I write this.. says it's now resolved after they agreed to call my agent directly. Now I have to be forwarded to someone else to handle the Auto Payment portion. Fortunately this lady speaks English and I can understand! Since Dec. I have probably spent 2-3 hours working on this. If I could bill them for my time I would! NOW, she says it takes 2 weeks for it to show in the system so I'll need to follow up in 2 weeks if I don't hear anything in the interim. I will never use BECU for another service. PERIOD!
