Bass Pro ShopsReviews of basspro.com

If I can, I will give them no star, I order a Sawyer Mini for 30 Canadian dollars plus tax thru the Tsawwassen BC store and they charge me USD and my credit card bill 51 Dollars, Msg them 3 times and they never get back to me, worst company ever, I will never purchase anything from this company, Never in my life, STAY AWAY!

I made an online ammo purchase from Bass Pro, and I think it was a mistake that I won't make again. I understand that current conditions make for slow shipping time, and I am more than willing to work around that. However, the website misleadingly states that items are 'in stock', when they are not. Then the order gets placed on an infinite backorder status. I called the 800 number to cancel after over a month of waiting and getting pushed further back... but the rep hung up on me as soon as I stated that I'd called to cancel a back order. This was after waiting on hold for quite a long time. So I tried the online live chat support option... which they've stopped doing, apparently. Let me elaborate on how this makes no sense. If you try to use the "live chat", you get a message that says: "Please note, due to efforts to keep our workforce safe, we are temporarily unable to offer our live chat service". But, if you call the toll free number, a human answers, eventually. Tell me: what safer form of communication is there during a pandemic than online chat??? Something that can easily be done from home, much easier than phone communication, imo.... They don't want to use the online chat option because it is making it far too easy for disgruntled customers like myself to cancel their order, at least that's my opinion. They're using a pandemic as an excuse for poor service practices, and that is far more despicable than the actual bad service ever was. After all that, I attempted the email support system. I haven't yet received a response, of course... But we'll see where it goes. You learn a lot about how people really operate when times are hard, and I've learned all I need to know about this outfit. No thanks, in the future I'll support my small local businesses, I can at least depend on them to be honest and accountable. I'd rather pay an extra few dollars than support a large entity with poor & dishonest business practices.

Given the pandemic, I can certainly understand slow shipments and I am sympathetic to that. However, I have several complaints about Bass Pro that have nothing to do with that. First of all, their website often shows me things that are in stock so I order them. Days or even weeks later I get a "we're sorry" email that my order has been cancelled. This has happened multiple times. Also, days or even weeks later I'll sometimes get a "we're sorry" email stating that my shipment has been delayed and asks me to reference the new shipment date - which isn't given! Multiple calls and emails to Bass Pro go unanswered so I can't even ask a real person what's going on. I buy a lot of ammo and reloading supplies. When Bass Pro shows something in stock, only to pull the rug out from under me later after I order it, I lose the chance to find it somewhere that actually DOES have it in stock. This has happened with almost every order I've place with Bass Pro. Interestingly, I quit buying from Cabela's a long time ago for the same reasons, then found out later that the two companies are affiliated. No surprise there! I've placed my last order with BP or Cabela's.

Ordered Shotgun ammo for household protection in March. I knew that ammo was hard to come by with the COVID pandemic but found shotgun shells that met my needs available and in stock on BPS web site. To get free shipping, added a fishing shirt that I didn't need, but it put me over the free shipping threshold. The shirt arrived on time. Then the first email arrived stating the ammo was delayed by a week. Then around that delayed delivery date, I received a second delay via email. I tried to chat with someone, but that service was not operating, so I sent an email. No REPLY. Then a third delay and a fourth, now possibly mid May. The supposedly in stock ammo is now delayed 6 weeks (so much for protecting the household) and I again sent an email with No REPLY. Terrible customer service. Can only presume my in stock ammo went out the door to an insider. Never have had such a poor on-line experience. Since you can't open up most of your stores, how about shifting some personnel to handle on-line orders.

I don't get the negative reviews, each and everytime I do an online order it arrives without problem...usually a lot sooner than expected. Then the in store experience is like Toys r Us for the outdoorsman. The staff is knowledgeable, and always courteous....willing to lend a hand regardless of the situation. The store In St. Charles Missouri has got be one of the nicest, cleanest stores I have ever visited. A super helpful staff that will do all they can to help you find just the right equipment you need for what your doing. In my opinion the only thing they could do that they didn't is walk my purchase to my car......they do that? Thanks a bunch Bass Pro and Cabelas.....you guys rock!!!!!

Ridiculous. This company has absolutely no idea as to how to conduct business online. My order has been delayed indefinitely and there is no way to communicate with them - no telephone answer, no email response, no chat line help. Nothing works. Nothing is there. Customer service is simply not there in any way, shape or manner. They should just throw up their hands and give it up. Bankruptcy is definitely on the horizon.

Placed my order today and they just sent me a cancellation notice that they probably can't even get the product with in 60 days. If you don't have the product available through your suppliers you should not take the order. Will be the last time I ever order anything from Bass Pro Shop.

Absolutely the worst online buying experience. They charged my card. Then stated my card was declined. Which wasn't true. Then went to look up my order. And it was gone. Save your time and money. Don't shop with Bass pro shop ever.
