About Barefoot Labs
Barefoot Labs builds private, self-hosted AI for organizations that cannot afford to compromise on data security. Our flagship product, Compass, gives teams the AI chat experience they already know - ask questions, search documents, generate reports, automate workflows - while keeping every byte of data inside your own infrastructure.Unlike cloud AI tools that route your queries and documents through third-party servers, Compass runs entirely on your hardware or private cloud. Nothing is sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any external provider. For teams in healthcare, legal, financial services, government contracting, and other regulated industries, that distinction is not just a preference - it is a compliance requirement. We have been building enterprise software since 2007, and we bring that same depth of experience to AI deployment. Compass integrates with your existing tools and data sources, adapts to your internal documents and workflows, and scales to fit organizations of any size. Our platform is ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certified. Our clients choose Barefoot Labs because they want the productivity gains of modern AI without handing sensitive data to a third party. We design every feature with that constraint in mind - because your data should stay yours.Headquartered in San Diego, California,
