This is my 4th purchase from these folks. They became my go to as far as pre prepared computers. For many years I ordered my components from various places and installed them myself, as I am hardware/software savvy. Unfortunately, it will be my last after my last unit. Possibly it is under new ownership. but the service is horrid. I received my computer in a box, shipped. I did not open it for a few weeks as I was moving. I purchsed this system for light browsing and a bit of editing/rendering. Nothing exceptional. Certainly not a high end rig. Immediately, I get a screeching noise on start up. Sound pops and crackles, until I reboot it. Then its normal, for awhile. But always requires a reboot. Light browsing has turned into a nightmare and clicking open a new window takes around 20 seconds. It isnt possible to run even the most basic video games. When I contacted tech support, they told me I had not purchased an additional warranty. So, for an extra fee, they would diganose. This is the way you treat a repeat customer? Especially with the information I gave them. I realize there can be a myriad of things wrong with a system. But this was nearly a fresh install. Whatever was and is wrong came from the dealer like this. For your money, I no longer recommend this company.

They sold me a computer that stopped working after three weeks, refused to take it back and told me to go out and buy parts at my own expense until i found out what the problem was. It cost me $70 to ship the pc back to them and now they are trying to say it was damaged when they got it back. I wouldn't buy $50 from them for a $1. they also said they will refuse any package that is sent without an RMA number but they refuse to give me one. STAY AWAY!

I have bought motherboards from this company in the past, and there was no problem, this time I bought an ECS MB and before I could build the computer I was in the hospital with kidney problems, and after that was over I had heart failure. It took me a couple of months to get back on my feet, and last week I put the computer together, and found out the MOBO was bad, it would not even post. I contacted the company thru eBay and they said the warranty was up, and would not even discuss doing an exchange. I'm out the money for the board and the shipping, and all ebay said was contact IC3.gov.

Ordered a power supply from them specifically listed for the computer model . Was not compatible. Asked for refund or exchange. No response for six months. After contacting them again the customer service person handed me off to the tech support person. That person was rude and condescending in each of his two responses so far. He also told me a complete lie claiming the model was made for many years and that justified why the part was wrong. The model was manufactured for less than one year. I know this because I worked in tech support myself for the company that made it. I advised I would be notifying the better business bureau and asked to speak to management. The support person indicated in his reply thAt I should go ahead and do that. I just might after filling out several more reviews on sites similar to this one.

Worst buisness I have dealt with in my whole life. They will not pay return shipping when they ship a defective item that does not work and constantly crashes. I bought a video card from them and from day 1 they have been terrible at responding. After being reasonable in messaging them on ebay, they havent responded to a single message about paying return shipping. Considering the item they shipped me was defective, It is reasonable that they should pay for return shipping. However they are a terrible business and very uncooporative. Also, do not listen to their ebay reviews. They only reason they have high reviews is because if you give them a negative review than they will offer 20 dollars for you to raise there score. Overall absolutely TERRIBLE company that you should NEVER go through the trouble of dealing with. The discounts are simply not worth it. I will update on wether or not they agree to pay return shipping, if this is not updated, it is further proof what a terrible company ascend tech is. DO NOT BUY HERE!!!!!!!

I helped my friend order his new computer from Ascendtech, which came with an Asus motherboard, two 500GB hard drives, 8 GB RAM, a quad core AMD processor and windows 7 x64. Right out of the box the computer had problems. I tried several different fixes to no avail so I called customer service and they had me reaching inside the box messing with cables. I got the computer to work after much hassle, but then the computer started messing up again and randomly shutting off or freezing up. I have much experience working on computers, so I was frustrated when the usual fixes weren't working. We lost the window to send it back under 30 day warranty, so we called them again and they told us some bull about "soup of the day". Basically, they said "tough cookie". I give them one star because that is the lowest possible choice. I will never do business with Ascendtech again, nor shall I send any of my friends that way. If you were considering going with Ascendtech to save a couple hundred dollars, don't! It will be much more cost-effective to spend the extra $ and go with a better company.

Bought Motherboard and CPU from these guys. According to the web site, both were new, retail items, not listed as used, or OEM. Got the order in, the Motherboard was opened, nothing but the Motherboard in the box, no driver CD, no manuel, no cables or adapters, and it was in a Foxconn box without any description about what was inside. I had order an INTEL motherboard, they didn't send me one. And then I checked the CPU, it was not new, and was not retail, but OEM, which was not indicated in their website, but instead was scratched and used, with dried, caked on dielectric grease stuck in the CPU still. Called them up, tt Steve. He quickly got defensive, started making all kinds of crazy stuff up about the brand and socketing and refused to accept that the web site stated "Manufaturer: Intel"...and hung up on me when I refused to accept his bum rush lies. Called back, tt supervisor "Val"...who actually admitted over the phone that they don't have the CPU in stock, or the Intel Motherboard they accepted my money for, and he offered to send me a return label. These folks knew that they were sending me bogus parts before they even accepted my paypal payment. Its criminal, organized crime over the internet.

I recently returned a motherboard that I bought through ascendtech. The motherboard was bad and it didn't come with a rear IO shield. Upon returning both, my refund was docked the original shipping cost, plus a restock fee for the IO shield that should have been included with the original purchase in the first place. Between that and the return shipping that I paid I am now out ~$25. This is the absolute WORST return policy and practice I have experienced. Even Dell does not treat their customers like this, and until this transaction, I was thoroughly convinced that Dell had the worst customer support policies, and that no one could possibly beat them. ascendtech sucks more than Dell
