This is nothing more than a scam moving company. The broker, (Dave) is a very good salesmam. I told him I was an elderly woman moving by myself and very nervous about hiring a moving truck because of all the scams I've heard of. He promised me he would take very good care of me. He would be involved all the through the process of my items. Gave me his number to call him with any problems along the way so he could fix them for me. Started with a quote of $10,000.00. I told him no way I can pay that. He finally got down to $4,900.00. I was moving out of my boyfriend house so I had about a 1 bedroom apartment full. Truck shows up on 9/9/26 so they could get my things there by 9/11/26. Dave assured and reassured me it would be there so I drove 2 days immediately after only to find out the actual delivery date written on the contract was 9/16/26. When I called to get an actual delivery date and question where my truck was via GPS they said they don't use GPS tracking and my things could get there as late as 10/1. By this time Dave, the broker was not interested in following through on his promises to me. He actually told me to stop harassing him. So this very large semi pulls up on Oct 3 and proceeds to tell me I owe them an additional $738 because the semi is too big to drive into the complex. No one ever told me they would be picking up my stuff, drive it to a warehouse that I was not allowed to know where it was. Then wait and wait until they had at least 1 other load going my way. They them fill the semi and charge the customers for the fact that a semi can't fit and it will have to be carried from the road to the unit. Hence the additional $738.00. According to the ride customer service rep, this was a discount. This is the clean version of my moving experience with this company. This does not include all the back and forth lying to me during the wait. READ EVERY WORD OF YOUR CONTACT BECAUSE EVERYTHING THAT CAN GO WRONG WILL.

One of their reps, Marcus, contacted me. We had a great call where I outlined all my needs. And for a shorter (800-mile) move of 350 cubic feet of belongings in an apartment 24 steps from street to stairs, with pickup by a reputable carrier (4.37 on BBB), he quoted me $1775. I asked him to send a binding estimate and to let me know the different cost levels in addition for Full Value Protection. Over the course of several days, he continued to respond but without giving me anything in writing. I also received a series of generic reminder emails. When I responded via text, my texts suddenly began to bounce as undeliverable. When I tried to pin him down for a quote, he said it would be $2,500 for a binding estimate. I asked why the huge sudden bump, and he said, "because of all your requirements." I told him nothing had changed from our call except me asking for his verbal promise in writing. I have yet to hear back, but my assumption is he would have done a non-binding estimate for $1,775 and then have a million surprise charges upon pickup and delivery, sending me way over that. Untrustworthy as they come!

Great job! Moved my son and I. Very grateful for John Roth and the guidance he offered throughout the entire process!

David and Steve with pack n go did an amazing job! They were very careful, kind and efficient!

I contacted America First Moving in Los Angeles on March 18, 2026, to move from Los Angeles to Ohio. I spoke with Noah Banks. I was very clear that I had two pickup locations. One was my apartment, and the other was a storage unit in Gardena. There was no miscommunication. When it came time to pick up on April 30, 2026, the third party they contracted with was US Safe Moving LLC in Las Vegas, NV. They had no idea about picking up anything from my apartment. I used my apartment address to schedule everything. I spoke with Kaylee Santos to clear up the Quality Control, and my move went from $4389 (estimate) to $11,000 after my conversation with Kaylee. I spoke with the supervisor, Jay Santos (Kaylee related?), and after going back and forth over the cost, Jay and I reached an agreement of $8,379 (total cost of move) with US Safe Moving LLC. My property arrived in Ravenna, Ohio, on Saturday, May 9, 2026. After my inventory, there were several things missing. Numerous boxes were missing, and a few plastic storage containers were missing. The things missing were books, cd's, dvd's, clothing, household items, and tools. America First Moving will use its "alleged" Consumer Affairs rating to get customers. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. FIND SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE ARE A NIGHTMARE. I am wondering if the missing things were to make up the difference in the $11,000 they wanted to move me. All this happened the day of my move, no less, which makes it nearly impossible to change arrangements. My apartment lease expired on April 30, 2026, which is why I was moving this day. Make sure to leave your review on Consumer Affairs if they do you this way. Follow up with the Better Business Bureau, the Department of Transportation, and any places you can think of. Consumers have to stick together!

I want to be fair. I also want to be clear: this experience nearly derailed our entire move into our new home. In May I received a phone quote of $3,600 after a thorough walkthrough with a salesperson — I answered every question honestly and disclosed everything we were and weren’t taking. That price was competitive and I booked on the strength of it. The first red flag: I was told they’d confirm 2–3 days before the move. They didn’t call until the day before, and even then only after I reached out myself. That same call is when the price was revised to over $8,000 — more than double the original quote, with less than 24 hours notice. I pushed back hard and insisted on holding to the original price, which they honored. The movers came and completed what the original quote covered — but because the initial estimate was simply too low for everything we had, they could not complete the full move with the time and space available. The next day we scrambled to handle the rest ourselves: a U-Haul, TaskRabbit laborers, and a friend’s two teenage sons on a Sunday to get it done. It was chaotic, exhausting, and completely avoidable. The workers on-site were excellent and one offered his honest read: the salesperson who quoted me was likely inexperienced or undertrained. I believe that. This may not have been intentional deception — but it is a serious operational failure. A gap that large between estimate and actual is not acceptable, and verbal-only quotes clearly don’t work. They need mandatory video walkthroughs and better sales training before they cost someone else their moving weekend. I would not recommend them to anyone until they close this critical gap.
