Hey Dawn. I think you meant to write this review about another company. We're a data company (https://alignedhq.ai/) that helps leading AI companies improve their models. We don't charge any customers. Instead, we pay expert consultants for their domain expertise and support on frontier AI projects. Could you please remove this post? Thank you!
Several fellow scholars and I worked for Aligned on multiple AI training projects, but we repeatedly experienced payment issues. During the training calls and in the written guidance, the project manager, Miya Badley, provided instructions that we found confusing and, at times, contradictory. This caused considerable difficulty throughout the projects. We also received different explanations from the COO and co-founder, Tyler Garvin, whenever payments were due. On some occasions, he said the company was making changes to its payment processes. At other times, he said Aligned’s payment vendor, Stripe, had placed a hold on the company’s account while reviewing a transfer or had flagged the account. The repeated payment problems and inconsistent explanations left us deeply concerned about the company’s reliability and treatment of its workers. Based on our experience, my fellow scholars and I do not recommend working with Aligned AI Labs. We are sharing this to make others aware of the issues we encountered.

Hi Ben, Thank you for the candid feedback. I'm sorry the payment timing and some of the project guidance caused frustration. That isn't the experience we want for any of the experts on our platform. To be accurate about what happened with payments: last month we went through a short stretch where a payment-processor review held up one of our transfers. We made sure to immediately communicate that delay to all impacted experts, along with the steps we were taking to address it. We've since changed how we handle payouts to prevent it from happening again. That's the only time a payment has been delayed, and every expert affected was paid in full within a week. That doesn't undo the difficulty you ran into, and I'd like to close out anything still outstanding for you. Please email me directly at [email protected] and I'll personally make sure to address any specific concerns you might have. On the project instructions: Frontier projects with the leading AI companies are very challenging. They have complex requirements which change frequently as the AI company’s researchers learn from each project and adjust their priorities. With each change, it’s not uncommon that certain requirements are reversed entirely, which can often make the projects feel confusing and the instructions contradictory. We can’t prevent those shifting requirements, but we do our best to communicate those changes as clearly as we can. That is why our team keeps a change log on all project instructions, communicates every change to the message boards, and holds weekly office hour video calls. I’m happy to review any specific project related concerns you have and will, of course, take that feedback seriously to ensure we can improve the experience for you and other experts on future projects. — Tyler Garvin, COO, Aligned
No help with connectivity setup issues after multiple emails.Unable to find your SRT configuration. Please contact support. I tried adding the PAC file to your computer's network setting located in the Aligned site and got this error message #his XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below Then they ended my assignment to project although I did have a laptop but a connection issue they never solved: there resoonse: This configuration isn't something you do once and then your account will work. This is a setting you need to put in place directly on the computer you will be using to access Meta. If you move to a different computer to do the work, you would need to set it all up again. That means you need to use a personal computer. We've removed you from this specific project

I was contacted via Indeed about a Legal Brand Expert (paralegal) job at this company. I sent my resume through Indeed and immediately heard back that I had been hired. Mind you I never spoke to a soul. They sent my resume back to me and used AI to create some homework involving corporate law (that had the buzzwords from my resume). I completed that work in 10 minutes. While advertised pay was $40 - $60/hour my rate was $15. Then they started in with payment via Stripe. Logging in there requires your login and password. Um no, then you have access to my bank account! I gave them the routing and account number instead for a brand new bank account I just opened because the stench of the scam was on. That went through fine but 2 weeks later I haven't heard one thing. No jobs! It's a total scam.

Definitely a personal information collection scam with all the red flags. I registered, was assigned a job, and 3 weeks later no communication. They claim to pay via PayPal but only have connect Stripe bank option.
