WARNING: My Experience With AICommerce and Peter Szabo — Over $20,000 Lost I strongly caution anyone considering doing business with AICommerce or Peter Szabo to think carefully before handing over their money. My experience has been financially damaging, frustrating, and exhausting. In July 2025, I paid AICommerce $14,800 for a “done-for-you” ecommerce business. During the sales process, their representative, specifically told me I should expect to recover my investment within approximately 3 months, and no later than 6 months. He even stated that he had never seen a customer take longer than 6 months to recover their investment. More than 15 months later, I have lost well over $20,000, and the business has never achieved sustained profitability. I purchased a done-for-you service because AICommerce was supposed to handle product selection, advertising, testing, optimization, and business management. Instead, I experienced constant employee turnover, poor communication, repeated failures to follow through, and an exhausting need to chase employees for updates and action. The extensive communication history documents repeated follow-ups, missed commitments, unanswered questions, and a persistent lack of accountability. In my opinion, AICommerce failed to deliver the level of service and expertise I paid for. I essentially had to manage the people I hired to manage my business. I repeatedly escalated my concerns directly to AICommerce’s CEO, Peter Szabo. I have seen Peter respond to negative reviews by suggesting he would have corrected problems had customers brought them to his attention. Well, I did exactly that, repeatedly. Instead of meaningful intervention, I was redirected to other employees, and the problems continued. AICommerce later explained that Peter oversees hundreds of accounts and complaints are routed to the team. That explanation is difficult to reconcile with his public assurances. Another important detail is that our arrangement contemplated AICommerce sharing in the profits once the business became profitable. That never happened because the store never achieved sustained profitability. Yet AICommerce emphasizes that it continued providing services without additional fees, as though that compensates for its failure to make the business profitable. When I formally disputed the outcome, AICommerce pointed to contractual disclaimers, advertising budgets, and the risks of ecommerce. Despite acknowledging that its account managers controlled the advertising budgets, the company cited advertising expenditure as an explanation for the lack of success. Again, they administered my account and had full control of ad spending. According to AICommerce’s own figures, my store generated approximately $12,065 in sales against $14,505 in advertising expenditure, with an overall advertising return of just 0.78X. These figures don’t even include my original $14,800 service fee and other expenses. Despite these results, AICommerce declined to offer a refund or financial resolution, instead proposing to hand over the store and offering additional tools or introductions to people who could potentially manage it for a fee. I recognize that starting a business involves risk and profitability cannot be guaranteed. However, there’s a difference between accepting business risk and paying a substantial fee for a professionally managed service that, in my experience, was plagued by poor communication and inadequate follow-through. If you’ve experienced similar issues, consider filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission (reportfraud.ftc.gov), your state’s Attorney General or consumer protection agency, and the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org). Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend this company.
