I bought from Kitchen Aid, a subsidiary of Whirlpool, which was a nightmare and I won't be buying from either company ever again. Without doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My credit card was charged twice - the email with the invoice stated 'Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries'. I emailed 4 times and received no response. I rang the contact number twice with the call dropping off before I finally got through. At last, someone who could arrange the refund. But subsequently, no explanation or apology. And then they asked me to write a review for their website, which I did, receiving the following response - "Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" So their website only accepts positive reviews!

Whirlpool has the absolute worst customer service?
Whirlpool has the absolute worst customer service. My 96-year-old father bought a brand new whirlpool refrigerator freezer from Lowe’s. within three months the compressor went out and refrigerator does not work. He has no transportation and depends on neighbors bringing food and putting in his refrigerator. I was rerouted to 10 to 15 different people and no one would take responsibility and get the unit fixed. Said it would take 17 days before they could get a technician there. Who can do without their refrigerator for 17 days let alone a 96 six-year-old man that has no transportation. Once they get your money, they could care less about the customer. I was a manufacturer rep for 50 years and would be fired if I treated customers as whirlpool does. I will make my duty to tell everyone I know about the horrible customer service. And would recommend they buy anything except a whirlpool. I’ve never been so disappointed in a manufacturer as I am in this one.

Bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer…
Bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer in July of 2026. The dryer was used a dozen times before it started displaying the check vent light. Had a company come in and clean the dryer vent, install a new outtake hose and check the set up in the crawl space. All good but the dryer still throws the error and is quite warm to the touch when used after just a few minutes. It's unusable due to fire risk. Service is a week out and of course the customer has to re arrange their schedules for this crap. Waiting for the stupid washer to break as well and leak all over new floors.

Whirlpool Defective Product
In February 2026 I bought a Whirlpool French Door refrigerator. I liked the design and the refrigerator has been great. At that time I also bought two Everydrop water filters that are made and sold by Whirlpool for future water filter replacement. Last Friday the fridge signaled that the water filter needed replacement. I opened one of the filter packs and the filter would not install correctly. After several tries I called the customer service number for help and the only thing they could suggest was trying the second filter. I opened that filter and it installed without issue. This morning I called back to Whirlpool to see about getting the defective filter replaced and I was told the filters only have a 90 day warranty and they were sorry but could not replace the defective filter.

I have a complaint regarding Whirlpool…
I have a complaint regarding Whirlpool dishwasher, model WDT730HAMZ0, which has exhibited a serious &widely reported defect that Whirlpool appears aware of but has not adequately addressed. I purchased this dishwasher for approximately $700 & in the same order, spent about $3,000 total on Whirlpool appliances. This was a purchase of multiple major appliances from Whirlpool based on an expectation of reliability & consistency. For several months, the dishwasher began turning on by itself. This occurred repeatedly & raised concerns about safety & electrical malfunction. Its now completely lost power and no longer functions. After researching, I found many other consumers reporting the same failure pattern: the unit 1st powers on by itself, then later loses all power entirely. These reports consistently describe failures occurring between 6 mos and 2 yrs after purchase, which aligns w/ my experience & suggests a systemic defect rather than isolated incidents or normal wear. This is not just an inconvenience—it raises legitimate safety concerns. A unit that activates on its own may present a fire or electrical risk. The number of similar complaints suggests a broader defect rather than a one-off issue. Despite widespread reports, Whirlpool has not issued a recall, service bulletin, or clear acknowledgment of the problem. Some consumers report being contacted & receiving free repairs after filing complaints, suggesting the company may already be aware of the issue.
These consumers, myself included, deserve: 1. Full repair or replacement of the unit at no cost. 2. Formal acknowledgment and investigation of this defect 3. Consideration of recall or extended warranty coverage for affected units. I expect Whirlpool to take responsibility for what appears to be a known and recurring defect and seek a prompt resolution. If necessary, I am prepared to escalate this matter further due to safety implications & the number of consumers affected. Sincerely, Amy Heinz

FORMAL NOTICE OF PRODUCT DEFECT &…
FORMAL NOTICE OF PRODUCT DEFECT & DEMAND FOR SANATION FFB 9469 BV SPT SN 342542004495
TO: Whirlpool Corporation - Global Headquarters ATTN: Legal Department / Customer Experience Executive TeamADDRESS: 2000 N. M-63, Benton Harbor, MI 49022, USA
DATE: February 3, 2026 RE: Formal Claim - Latent Defect (Vicio Oculto) PRODUCT: FFB 9469 BV SPT SN 342542004495 PURCHASE DATE: November 12, 2025 LOCATION: Barcelona, Spain
To whom it may concern,
I am writing to formally notify Whirlpool Corporation of a severe latent defect (vicio oculto) discovered in a professional unit recently purchased for my commercial premises in Spain.
1. Description of the Defect The unit has suffered a structural failure involving the drum’s sealing gasket, resulting in a severe tear and consequential water leakage from the front of the machine. Technical assessment indicates this is not a result of wear and tear or misuse, but a pre-existing manufacturing defect related to the drum’s alignment or material integrity, which was non-apparent at the time of delivery.
2. Legal Framework (Spanish Civil Code) Pursuant to Article 1484 of the Spanish Civil Code, the seller is legally bound to provide a warranty against hidden defects if they render the product unfit for its intended use. Specifically:
"The seller is bound to provide a warranty for hidden defects in the thing sold if they make it unfit for the use for which it was intended..."
Under the aforementioned Article and the Article 1486, I am entitled to the restoration of the product’s conformity at no cost, or the rescission of the contract. Given that the unit was purchased less than three months ago, the burden of proof regarding the cause of the failure lies with the manufacturer, as a structural failure in such a short timeframe constitutes a clear breach of the implied warranty of merchantability.
3. Formal Demand As a commercial user, the downtime caused by this defective appliance is resulting in operational losses. Therefore, I hereby demand:
* An immediate, cost-free repair or replacement of the unit.
* Full waiver of any labor, parts, or travel fees.
Please be advised that this letter serves as a formal notice to exhaust administrative remedies. Should Whirlpool Spain fail to resolve this matter within 5 business days, I have instructed my counsel to proceed with legal action in the Spanish courts, seeking not only the repair but also damages for business interruption.
I trust that Whirlpool Corporation will uphold its global reputation for quality and resolve this local dispute promptly.
Sincerely,
Isaac

Poor performance, quality, and service for washer-dryer combo.
It really saddened me that I have to write a poor review of an American manufacturing company. We purchased a Whirlpool - 2.8 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Smart Front Load Washer and Electric Dryer Combo. When we first received it, it washed and dried in less than 2 hours. However, after 200 washes, the performance of the dryer portion deteriorated. It took over 5 hours to wash and dry clothes for a small size load. We had purchased a 5-year warranty. When we contacted the service department, they told us an 8 hour cycle was acceptable and refused to give us a refund. We have called them 3 times and they have never called us back. We will never buy a Whirlpool product again.
