Vanderburgh Sober Living (VSL) is a membership-based organization that supports the development and operation of structured recovery housing across the United States. Founded in 2016, VSL exists to expand access to safe, ethical, and sustainable sober living environments for individuals recovering from substance use disorders.VSL works with independent operators, nonprofit organizations, and real estate partners to provide a clear operational blueprint, training, and ongoing support for recovery homes. These homes are designed to promote accountability, peer support, and stability during early and sustained recovery. While VSL sets standards and provides resources, each recovery home is independently owned and operated, allowing for local leadership while maintaining consistent expectations around safety, structure, and resident well-being.Services offered through VSL include operator training, compliance guidance, house mentor education, administrative systems, and access to a broader recovery housing community. VSL also supports real estate development related to recovery housing, helping property owners and investors responsibly convert residential properties into compliant recovery residences that serve community needs.VSL places a strong emphasis on transparency, fair housing compliance, and collaboration with municipalities, neighbors, and referral partners. The organization maintains clear intake standards, resident accountability policies, and documentation practices to support both residents and operators.By combining operational discipline with a mission-driven approach, Vanderburgh Sober Living aims to strengthen recovery housing as a long-term solution for individuals rebuilding their lives, while also supporting operators in running professional, sustainable organizations.
