IPTA - International Personal Trainer AcademyReviews of traineracademy.org

Good value and easy to learn. HOWEVER, a lot of companies want you to get a CPT from a more recognized organization. But as long as your company is ok with any accredited org you'll be fine. That being said, I was able to get a job as a CPT within a month of completing my test. The job site is at my local community center where we get a good flow of clients from a nearby sports rehab facility. I would say that the material was easy to follow, you get the textbook as a pdf but the site has a feature that gives you summaries of each chapter with a short quiz after. Definitely recommend to anyone trying to get a good value, but just check what the jobs in your area require.

I completed my IPTA CPT with trainer academy in 2023. It was an amazing opportunity to become a Certified Personal Trainer in an affordable way. I found the learning materials easy to follow and passed my exam first time! The team are very friendly and found them responsive to emails.

IPTA is an emerging company. They of course do not yet compare with the personal training companies that have been around for decades and have true international renown. that being said, if IPTA maintains their accreditation they have the potential to be a consistent choice for beginners. I used them as my first certification because of their affordability and free access to study materials. At the time when I applied (spring 2023) they did not have a robust training program, so I did have to be very internally motivated in order to pass the test. I am now two years later and considering rectifying with them because they are still more affordable then the rest… and in honesty if you are creating your personal training business like myself the certifying company does not really matter. Whether it’s NASM, ISSA, or IPTA what matters is how much you apply yourself, do the extra research for your clients, and treat each client with dignity. One recommendation I would suggest for them is to host their own online CEU courses or partner with a third party that does. I think if that was included in a package they offer that would be an easy one stop shop and a no brainer.

I did pass the NSCA-CPT so I can’t deny Trainer Academy helped me. However nothing is super ground breaking. It’s a simple breakdown of how many weeks you have to study and a set amount of chapters and tests that you need to get through within those weeks.

The materials were great but some of the information were in the wrong chapters in the notecards.

Love how you guys “condense” the notes yet it’s coming right from the textbook. I wish chapter 6 talked about Karvonen method more, but overall it has helped me get through the textbook pretty quickly while grasping the material.

This option was specific to my context. I was coming up on the exam date and needed so solid material to prepare within the short I had. Trainer Academy provided that and more. Albeit I have a background with the NSCA, taking two other certifications but this really served as the capstone for my preparedness.

Overall it was great and had good outlines of the chapters. The addition of note cards and mnemonics were helpful too!
