Better photo work with patients

Our website offers a diverse range of photos showcasing various cosmetic procedures. Some images show patients in different states of dress to accurately illustrate the results. You’ll need to be signed into your account to view all the photos. If you need assistance finding photos of specific procedures, please email us at [email protected]
Website doesn’t give all the physicians in the area and it’s hard to navigate your website.

I think it’s a good platform but dislike how all good reviews are at the top and you have to scroll through a lot to see the negative it’s a little bit false, as had I of seen the negative reviews I would have looked for a different surgeon.

We understand that all reviews - positive, negative or neutral - are important when researching a doctor or procedure. To make this easier when researching, on the doctor’s profile page you can filter reviews by clicking the “Highest” or “Lowest” rating buttons. Thank you for your feedback, Jade.
RealSelf provides a really valuable service, allowing the public to review a doctor's work, both from patient reviews and pics of their past work. I'm a fan of cosmetic work, don't see it as any different than getting my hair done, simply personal grooming in my view. My disappointment is that (1) reviews are most often showering the doctor and staff with compliments on their demeanor more than the work results. (2) No matter what RealSelf states, it makes no sense why I don't see more critical or even mediocre reviews. Is it possible that 99.9% of patients are ecstatic vs more critical about what could have been done better, what was overdone or underdone, what they wish they hadn't done, etc. Makes no sense, there is no way statistically that there aren't more critical reviews. So I call B.S. on RealSelf’s claims about not “censoring” any reviews, well ya, they just don’t post them at all, so no need to censor the content. (3) Not actually RealSelf, but somehow, photos of a doctor's work are not reliable. I've seen multiple examples of the same photo/patient used across multiple doctors! They know viewers assume pics are those of the doctor’s work. The excuse is bound to be that they are not trying to pretend the photos represent their work, only what cosmetic procedures can produce. Shouldn’t RealSelf make this abundantly clear? Therefore, 3 stars for judging the authenticity of what you see and read on RealSelf. I've used RealSelf for many years and do appreciate the service. Just have more work to do to build credibility.

The only reason reviews are not posted is if they are in violation of the RealSelf Terms of Service or our community guidelines. When researching a doctor, you can filter reviews by “Lowest Rating” to ensure that you are seeing negative reviews as well. Doctors are only permitted to post photos if they have personally performed the listed treatment on the patient in the photo. We’re sorry to hear you’ve seen photos that don’t meet this guideline and we would be more than happy to look into this. While I think the information is very valuable, but the site has changed so much since I first went on in 2017 and 2030, when I used it again. I find the realself site itself very hard to navigate, to follow people's stories, and to send photos. PLEASE give people a pixel limit BEFORE they submit anything, as I had to go back and knock down all my photos, causing my review to go away and I had to rewrite it from scratch. I also don't like that it is full of ads.
