Pet PlaceReviews of petplace.com

I paid for lifetime coverage for 2 microchipped kitties and made two separate payments of 103.16 each. Both payments processed on the same day. When I logged in to petplace.com two weeks later and looked at my cats' profiles, only one had lifetime microchip coverage and the other one showed expired basic coverage. I called back to get them to update her profile. Bad customer service.

This pet insurance company recently acquired the company known prior as 24PetWatch, a microchip registry. When we registered our first dog with 24PetWatch over a year ago, we received the lifetime registration and the collar tag within 7-10 days, no problem. We recently adopted a second dog and paid the lifetime registration fee. Since that time (approx. 7 weeks ago), we have received two empty envelopes, no tag. After the first empty envelope (letter, no tag), I called and was told they would Fed Ex a new tag. Weeks later, I received another mailing via USPS, this time with a letter and card to which the tag was supposed to be affixed, again no tag. This company is clearly focused on selling pet insurance rather than on safeguarding lost pets. After my second call to report a mailing with no tag today (hold time 10+ minutes), I certainly hope the promised "escalation" will result in me receiving the tag. I also hope that Pet Place will actually manage the reporting phone line so that lost pets are reunited with their owners. I suggest people test the lost pet line to see if this company is actually providing 24/7 reunification services.
