Accepted a short-term 1099 sales contract which turned out to be misaligned with my expectations for onboarding and communication. I exited early and have since been more discerning about partner integrity. Be wary of Independent contracts which place conditions around compensation; Look out for structure in the wording which is vague and lacks proper upfront disclosure. Get clear written documentation stating that all training time will be paid.
