Terrible experience
Terrible experience – disorganization, misleading information and a service completely different from what we paid for My experience with Ocean Savanna, an agency operating a desk inside Kendwa Rocks Hotel, was extremely disappointing. I booked and paid for a 2-day, 1-night safari, originally scheduled to depart on August 16th. However, without my consent, they booked the return flight for the third day, effectively changing the trip I had purchased and forcing me to completely rearrange my plans. When I complained about this and requested a refund, they refused to refund me. Because of their poor organization, the safari that was originally supposed to start on August 16th had to be postponed, and I was only able to depart on August 22nd, causing significant inconvenience and completely changing my original travel plans. On top of that, they also changed the lodge we had agreed on, replacing it with a different property that, in my opinion, was clearly of a lower standard. Throughout the entire experience, we had to deal with unnecessary and irrational transfers, constant changes, extremely poor communication and contradictory information. Several explanations we were given later turned out not to match what had actually been arranged. The issue was not simply an unexpected problem — unexpected situations can happen when travelling. The real problem was how everything was handled and the complete lack of transparency and proper communication. We paid for a specific itinerary and ended up with different dates, flights, accommodation and arrangements from what had been agreed, without receiving an appropriate refund. Based on my personal experience, I absolutely cannot recommend Ocean Savanna. If you still decide to book with them, I strongly recommend getting every single detail in writing before making any payment: dates, flights, departure and return times, lodge name, number of nights, transfers and refund conditions. One of the worst-organized experiences of my entire trip to Zanzibar.
