SCAM ALERT DO NOT USE NYS Solar is nothing more than a scam company who use door to door sales tactics to scam homeowners. They came to our home and clearly stated they are from NYS Solar who have been installing solar panels to thousands of homes throughout Long Island, claiming to offer substantial cost savings benefits to include -thousands in tax credits, significant savings to monthly/yearly electricity costs they even go as far as stating “adding solar panels would add significant value to the property according to Zillow’s data” They then get you to sign an agreement on their iPad without ever mentioning that you are entering into a full scale lease agreement with the company, they only mention the agreement is for roof assessment to determine whether the property will even meet the criteria for solar panels. It is only after you sign and get a copy of the Docusign you notice the outrageous pricing, I signed on 5/5/2026, I reached out to the sales Rep Tim Nunn on 5/7 to let him know we were not going to move forward because their pricing plans would have cost us hundreds more annually than what we’re currently paying, this scam the company and its sales rep goals is to not acknowledge your request to cancel, but to further pressure you into getting your roof assessed. They send a guy to our home almost simataneously to take pictures of our roof for an hour. Their goal was to get me to sign for permits, I refused, they harassed me for weeks to try and get me-to sign which I refused. They then start with emails, the company’s CEO in particular Garton Reid sends countless emails demanding phase 1 payment of $18,056 which is apparently for roof assessment, they then threatens AAA arbitration., even lien and foreclosure. This is common scam practices with this company, Customers should file complaints with NYS Attorney Generals office as I have. These guys are the biggest scammers and need to be reigned in with the swiftest possible consequences.

NY State Solar is located in Hicksville NY. Although many solar companies are struggling in what is now a hostile federal government toward renewable energies, I found NY state exaggerates solar production. Salesmen pitch 25 year leases with figures that will never offset 100% PSEG electric bill. I have 12 years experience. Too many north side facing solar panels will never produce what they say. I worked there 5 weeks, 3 weeks in sales, and was part of many meetings. The VP bragged how he made so many jokes that folks would sign up while laughing for a 25 year lease and never knew the monthly rate they would be charged. When I asked too many direct questions asking about company accountability I was fired. They don’t like being challenged or questioned. I doubt they survive much longer.
