Tried more than 10 so called easy to install distributions and also easy to use when coming from Windows. The only that in my opinion fill that perfect is Q4OS Debian based and so easy to make to look like Windows 10 and running so fast that Windows 7 seemed slow compared. Now that millions of still OK functioning computers will lose the until now functioning security from updates of the Windows 10 system the only way to not having these computers end up as landfill is to still use them and that is what Q4OS can make most of them do. Microsoft move on and so do I. 2 of my 3 computers now have Linux operation system in them. And they both are faster on browsing and they also have a fine office pack and music- and video-player and can do what they could when Windows was still the operation system on them. That it is all possible without paying anything for the newly installed operation system on them makes it a bit more than perfect.

Hi. I joined LQ in 2010. It's been invaluable to me in getting queries answered. The folk are friendly and helpful on the whole. I use the website daily. I'd recommend LQ to anyone new (and even more experienced) to the GNU/Linux (aka just Linux) operating system. If you do join, don't forget to make an introductory thread in the 'Member Intro' section. :-)
