Unethical and untrustworthy
I got a very gross, unsolicited email (spam) from Tyler Grant, founder and Senior Wikipedia Consultant of Global Wiki Editors. He claimed to have noticed I wasn't on Wikipedia and offered to create a paid article for me to build my reputation and global visibility. Any person that thinks spam is a great way to advertise is not someone worth doing business with and certainly not someone to trust for "Reputation Management". Second, the product he's selling, self-promotion via Wikipedia, is worthless. He neglected to mention that you don't have to pay to add an article in Wikipedia. *Anyone* can edit Wikipedia. You might think, well, maybe the service he is offering is his "ten years of experience". It's easy to check whether he is any good: Look him up in Wikipedia. Surprise, surprise, Tyler Grant and his company, Global Wiki Editors, are not even listed. How can that be when I just said anyone can add an article? Well, that's the _other_ thing he neglected to mention: Everyone can also delete articles that violate Wikipedia's guidelines. Wikipedia is not for advertising, marketing, publicity, or public relations. He's selling an unethical service that goes against the guidelines, abusing a non-profit for his own gain. Even if you are okay with that, you'd be wasting your money paying him as anything he creates will be taken down quickly, as evidenced by his own lack of a Wikipedia entry.
