Their questionnaire before joining was so long that I decided not to finish it, and I therefore never signed up. I also suspect that their translations of the books are AI based, since the text at sign-up was an unnatural sounding computer translated version of my native language.

You're right about the Danish. After your review we checked the sign-up text and found grammar mistakes, for example the wrong form of the language name before a noun ("spansk bøger" instead of "spanske bøger"). We've passed them to our developers. The books are separate from that. You read them in the language you're learning, not in Danish. AI adapts each book to your level, and an editor reviews every book before it's published. The questionnaire is long, and we have a four-step version: language, level, email, name.
