DriveRockReviews of driverock.io

We push heavy Houdini fluid sims and comped plates back and forth with studios in Mumbai and Chennai, easily 500 gigs to a terabyte every few days. Previously, our pipeline bottleneck was waiting hours for an upload to finish before the other team could even start downloading. We looked at enterprise software, but the upfront cost was way out of our league. DriveRock solves this with their simultaneous download right in the browser. The artists get to work on plates almost immediately, which shaves hours off our post schedule. The auto resume function is another life saver. My browser completely crashed on me yesterday at 85 percent on an 800GB upload. I reopened Chrome and DriveRock just picked up right at 85 percent. Bulletproof.

I send massive 3D walkthroughs and CAD data to real estate developers. I used to use WeTransfer’s Starter plan, but my files regularly go over their 300GB limit. Having to split a client's project into multiple zip files and then use multiple paid solutions with all their upload limits just to be able to send data across the internet in 2026 was getting very annoying. With DriveRock, I just pay per transfer. It costs me like 150 rupees for a massive 250GB file. Also, many clients regularly forget to download the files before the link expires. Then suddenly I have to scramble when I’m on location and having to re-upload the files on dodgy local broadband wastes the whole afternoon. DriveRock lets me extend the link's life for a few rupees. It is a much better alternative and saves me hours of headache.

I work on major fashion campaigns and deal with massive 150GB folders of layered TIFFs. Ad agencies are super strict, and getting a creative director to install an FTP app just to view my finals was always a nightmare. I used to use Wetransfer, but I don’t need to send files everyday, so the subscription is just a waste of money. DriveRock solved this completely. It runs natively in the browser and I pay only when I transfer data. It’s very affordable for me as compared to a subscription service liek Wetransfer. The link extension facility is also a lifesaver. Client forgets to download in time, just extend the life of the link, and that too literally a few rupees, and they do not charge extra for multiple downloads. It is super sorted and saves me so much back and forth messaging and reuploading.

I render out massive 3D animation caches and EXR image sequences. The worst part about sending 300GB to 800GB folders used to be the zip file corruption. You upload it, the client unzips it, and half the files are broken. We tried P2P tools but corporate firewalls always block them. Google Drive has upload caps and messes up the file naming and structure completely. DriveRock was a lifesaver because it keeps folders intact with no split zip files, and every byte is SHA-256 checksum verified. I only pay a couple of dollars when a big project rolls out, rather than being locked into an expensive monthly tier. Plus, no IT department blocks a standard secure web link. It saves me hours of troubleshooting corrupt zips and renaming and reorganising files.

The turnaround times in the film industry here are brutal. We are grading all the way up until the final delivery deadline. Waiting for a 350GB DCP to fully upload and then having the mastering facility wait hours to download it was killing our schedules. DriveRock’s simultaneous upload and download feature is the ONLY reason we make our delivery times now. While I am uploading, they are already pulling it down. Coupled with the fact that sending a terabyte costs less than my Swiggy lunch order, and the auto resume feature that handles our unpredictable monsoon fibre drops, it is hands down the most reliable tool and saves us massive amounts of time on deadline days.
