CubeSmart Self StorageReviews of cubesmart.com

The management services are vicious aggressive. When visiting on 2 occasions; Frankie Williams a manager was sexually harassing my 7 year old child with sexually face gestures. When I saw this, I asked Frankie does he understand she is a child. Frankie started yelling at me, “ you a white woman with no man to take care of you... and I can take care of you.” I advised Frankie I am married 27 years and do not appreciate assumptions or his harassment. I went to the General Manager, Karen Thomas who bullied me telling me my concern was in my head and if I complained again she will evict my storage unit. I asked for the companies information to contact a higher degree.... and Karen Thomas starts laughing calling me names as: look little girl, child, etc. I on my own contacted the cooperation offices of higher management and 3 weeks have passed no reply to my concern. In word of the mouth complaint it was told to me, Frankie Williams was having sexual relations with a 20 year old worker and the General Manager, Karen Thomas. To me this generalizes why I was harassed by Karen Thomas when I complained Frankie Williams sexually harassed me and my daughter who is under the age of 10. I have since moved my unit and contacted the police. The police stated to contact their cooperate office as I have a total of 7 times per my urgent complaint. Cubesmart refuses to address a management team they allow to sexual harsss children and for he has relations with Karen Thomas the general manager I was disrespected and threatened when my complaint was valid and held video evidence of his advances to my child It is so sad the nature of Frankie Williams and Karen Thomas allowed by cubesmart to be allowed agressed nature’s. Thank you.

My husband and I rented a storage unit from the Mooresville, NC CubeSmart back in May 2018. When we signed up, they told us we either had to have home owners insurance on the unit or would have to purchase their monthly insurance. Since we did not have a home owners policy (we were waiting to close on a new house) we opted to purchase their insurance. A few weeks after we moved our stuff in we experienced significant rainfall in the area. We went back to check on our items and found that there was significant water damage to our furniture and items in the back of the storage unit. We immediately brought the storage manager out to show her the problem and she said they knew there had been issues with flooding in that unit before, but they thought it had been fixed. She moved us to another unit in the facility and told us to contact the insurance company. Meanwhile, CubeSmart had MORE repairs done to the flooded unit, saying there was some weather stripping and drainage issues in the back. The insurance company denied our claim saying they did not cover water damage. I asked them if there was some sort of supplemental water insurance option that we did not purchase that would have covered the damage and she said no. I said so we had no option to purchase water insurance and yet there's been water damage so whose responsibility is it to compensate us for our damaged items? We were told to go back to CubeSmart to see if they would help us. We went back and forth with CubeSmart on emails for months and were even sent to their property's personal insurance company. Once again, we were denied and the insurance company said no one alerted them to any water issues so it was not their responsibility. Meanwhile, we're out over $1,300 in damaged furniture that we can't even give away on Craigslist. That's not to mention the damage to items we didn't file a claim for as they were irreplaceable - my college diploma, my wedding portraits, and artwork painted by my sister. I have never in my life experienced a company so unwilling to step up and take care of their customers. I've worked in retail my entire life and would never let a $1,300 claim go on for 6 months unresolved. I was waiting to post this negative review because I was hoping someone would step up and do the right thing. Unfortunately, CubeSmart doesn't seem to care. There was absolutely nothing else my husband and I could have or should have done to prevent this situation from happening. We purchased the insurance we were allowed to take and were just victims of a company's bad property management. The only choice we should have made was to never store our items with CubeSmart. Renters beware!

Didn't reimburse me saying that they don't prorate.. sent me a bogus email saying someone will be contacting me, though I didn't hear from anyone.. will charge you a service fee every time you change your cube..

I have had a space at the Lewisville Texas location for over 10 years. At one point we had four large units. At present we have unit C138. My rent for the unit is $212.00 per month. I overheard a customer asking how much the rent was for that size unit and was told $156.00. I asked the young lady there if I could change my cost to the lower price and she said that the only way was for me to move all of my belongings to another unit. I have decided since I have to move my belongings anyway that I will find another company to use for storage. The fact that I am being charged more for a space that is now less expensive if rented now is totally insane.

My local Cubesmart advertises "free use of this truck when you rent from us" but they have had no truck available FOR MONTHS. It is dishonest - it's now a bait and switch. And they refuse to do the right thing, which is reimburse for a rental or discount storage rental. This is supported at the District Level - CORPORATE - and is BAD BUSINESS.

Do Not Be Late In Any Way after 30 days! You will be assessed far more than you will expect and they will lock you out of your own space! There is no human element of concern from any of their customer service agents or managers! Their corporate office acts like a PRISON WARDEN!

I have had my belongings in this storage place for almost and years and this is a poor place land the customer service is very poor and non-caring and I am so sorry that I chose this place. Every month I haft to request a pass word change due to there poor system and when I call into the customer service they act like they really don't care with there voice tone. I was told by the customer rep that 30% of his calls are people calling complaining about there service. When asked to speak to a manager and I said good morning he was soooo rude he did not bother to ask or say good morning back and to me that is very POOR customer service. I have been in the customer service field for over 15 years and I ALWAYS ASK MY CUSTOMER HOW THEY ARE DOING. It shows that the company CARE. They had enough nerve to charge me a 100.00 for the smallest storage they went up on my storage 4-6 months after I was there and told me that I was randomly chosen.

Very poor customer service! Unprofessional general manager! One of the worst experiences a person can never hope for!
