Thanks for reviewing a restaurant you found using BringFido! It is actually quite common that even at the most dog friendly restaurants, dogs are required to be seated with their owners outside on a patio or porch. They rarely get to be inside, unfortunately. But we would definitely encourage you to also leave a review on this restaurant's page on our website so that other travelers might benefit from hearing about your experience there!

We truly appreciate your feedback and are glad you found us, even if it was not the experience we aim for at BringFido. While we make hundreds of updates to the policies of properties on our site every week, it is possible that a hotel changes something and it's too recent for us to have picked up on it yet. Covid policies stayed in place for a long time and some properties still haven't made any changes there. We welcome guest communication about any updates they discover since they are there in person and we are not (https://www.bringfido.com/lodging/post/). However, this is exactly why we require a guest speak with us first if it’s a same day reservation so that we can verify all of this information ahead of time. So, that is correct that we can offer our pet friendly guarantee only if we've been given enough time to verify the reservation details ourselves, and that is 24 hours. We work tirelessly to communicate with hotels about every single reservation made on our site prior to the evening of the stay, specifically to ensure guests do not run into any surprises at check in. With a reservation made for that very evening, we simply don't have enough time to make that connection with the hotel, particularly with an international hotel, as we are US based. That is stated in our pet friendly guarantee clearly for that reason. We hope you can understand why that’s necessary. Using a credit card on any of our platforms does work. However, we do not currently support credit cards that require SCA (secure customer authentication). This is only found in some EU-issued cards and we do have a plan to work towards that capability in the future, but right now, we cannot support that method of payment. Guests most commonly use a different credit card and everything goes through, but it sounds as though all of your cards have that SCA requirement, so we regret that you ran into that issue. We hope that clarifies things a bit, and we hope that you’ll give BringFido another opportunity to help you in your travels!

In looking into your case, I can see that you've been issued a full refund already, so everything is resolved. However, I can certainly see how you would feel frustrated with your experience. We're looking into each of the conversations that we had with you to see where the communication went wrong or could be improved. This was a simple incorrect date booking and shouldn't have been so tedious to get corrected, so we sincerely apologize and can only say that it's not the norm with our team.

We're so sorry that you are having this experience, Jennifer. We know that you are frustrated and don't blame you one bit. We need to be very clear here, though, that BringFido does not ever receive nor hold funds; we simply process them through to the hotel, and then our job of verifying pet friendliness is initiated. Our partnerships allow us to offer the lowest rates possible, so if a hotel then charges you again, they are double charging for something they've already collected. Because BringFido does not have, and never did have those funds, our role is to then leverage our influence to try and obtain a refund when a guest has been wrongfully charged. Although it's unusual within the hundreds of reservations we process a week, a hotel's mishandling of guest reservations does happen, and we do everything in our power to advocate for things to be righted. We have not given up and will continue to communicate with you as we work to resolve this on your behalf. Again, we truly regret this has happened to you and hope to see a positive outcome soon.

Hi Leslie, in looking into your case, I see that it took us 5 days from the day that you called us about a date change until the day we notified you of your refund. We would very much like to have seen things happen more quickly for you, however, please know that we never stopped working on your behalf during that time. What was missing was an update to you later last week so we're very sorry to not have reached back out until we had a definitive answer yesterday. What is communicated to a guest by a hotel front desk agent is sometimes not indicative of what their corporate proccesses involve and it's our job to manage all those steps behind the scenes. Your promised refund is being processed, so we hope that you will give us another opportunity to assist you, and very much hope that your pup's procedure goes smoothly.

We are not able to makes changes to business information when the what is found on our site is accurate and the changes requested are also not made by the business itself. We appreciate you reaching out but the concern you have with the business is not pertaining to the accuracy of the info, and therefore it cannot be altered unless requested by the business itself.

This is so frustrating. We're very sorry for this experience. In looking into your case, I can see the problem here; that despite our best efforts, the hotel simply changed their minds about the refund they promised us (on your behalf). This is very unusual, but it took much longer due to that back and forth with hotel management. You were issued a refund directly from BringFido, rather than the hotel in case, because we weren't going to stand for you being hurt in the midst of this troublesome scenario. I wish it had not taken so long, and can understand you losing patience, but please know that we never stopped working on your behalf. Some hotels are easy and fabulous to work with and some make our jobs harder, but ultimately, we take pride in being your advocate and ensuring you're travel experience is protected. We hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

This is really disappointing to hear and I'm sorry you feel so let down. I do want to be sure to clear up your first point that you were asked to call us prior to booking. We house over half a milion pet friendly listings and while we make changes to our evergrowing database daily, sometimes hotels do have very particular policies, so in order to stand by our pet friendly guarantee, we need to do some leg work for our customers. We do it all day everyday, and even have a team dedicated to calling on each and every (non same-day) reservation that comes in. But when we know a hotel is picky, we state that up front and want to call ahead on your behalf to ensure it's going to be a good experience. That's why you received that message. The value of our service is not only in providing you with more possible pet friendly options than any of the other sites out there, but also in the customer service that goes along with it, which no one can match. As for the price, that should never be the case. If you have an account with us, our prices are almost always the same or lower than other booking sites. We'd want to know about this before your trip so that we could check dates and options on your behalf, and would have even covered the cost if we could verify we were somehow in the wrong prior to your pre-paid trip (after the fact, there is no way to compare competitor pricing for your date range). If you are gracious enough to give us another opportunity to serve you, please know that we would always welcome your call if you have a question or concern. The name spelling is not something we can even alter. It is routed directly from your reservation input through to our partners. If the hotel entered your reservation manually at that point, we would not be made aware of a name spelling discrepancy, unfortunately. But even that would be quite unusual for a hotel to do. So little is done manually these days; data goes from the guest's entry at the time of booking to the end user, which would be the hotel in this case. We truly would like to help change your opinion and hope that knowing all of this, you might reconsider giving us another opportunity. Give us a call!
