I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bark Air!
My wife and I were moving to Ireland and bringing our Frenchie, Rocco 🐾
Bark went above and beyond any expectations for what the relocation process entailed.
From day one, their concierge, Kristen, walked me through everything to expect, providing step-by-step guidance on the USDA process. This information allowed me to fact-check local veterinarians and find a qualified provider fully aligned with Kristen’s advice.
Leading up to the departure date, Jamie kept me updated on flight status and helped get the USDA paperwork across the finish line by coordinating with local Irish agriculture officials. They even ensured the customs agent meeting me in Dublin was ready to process my Stamp 4, spouse of an Irish Citizen, entry into the country.
The flight crew—including the pilots, the flight attendant, and Greer—was absolutely amazing. There was never a moment when I or Rocco, were left wanting for anything.
Bark Air played a huge part in helping my family achieve our dream of relocating to Ireland 🐾✈️🇮🇪

Safety should come first
As a former employee, I wouldn’t trust this company.
The idea is amazing, many people have had wonderful experiences, but behind the scenes I saw serious safety issues that were repeatedly raised and never properly addressed. We got almost no training before being expected to manage multiple reactive dogs alone on tiny planes. I personally had to stop a terrified dog that broke free during takeoff and ran toward the cockpit.
The culture was the biggest red flag. Speaking up about safety didn’t feel safe, and from my experience, concerns were brushed aside instead of taken seriously. At least two people were fired for speaking up about the safety and operational issues and the amount of aggressive and reactive dogs.
Great concept, very concerning management and honestly working there felt a bit like it was an accident waiting to happen.

Response from Air Bark· Aug 28, 2026
At BARK Air, the safety and well-being of every dog, dog parent, and crew member has always been, and continues to be, our highest priority.
Since launching BARK Air, we have safely operated more than 400 flights, welcoming thousands of dogs and their families on board. We are incredibly grateful that our passengers have consistently rated their experience 5 out of 5 stars, reflecting the care provided by our team and our commitment to creating a truly dog-first way to travel. Even when we've encountered the unexpected realities of air travel, such as severe weather or mechanical events, we've maintained a 100% service recovery record, a testament to our team's dedication to making things right for our passengers.
As an FAA-certified Part 135 operator, our operating partners have earned some of the aviation industry's highest independent safety recognitions, including ARG/US Platinum, Wyvern Wingman, and IS-BAO Recommended status, an achievement attained by only a select group of operators worldwide. Their full-time pilots have thousands of hours of flight experience and undergo rigorous recurrent aircraft and emergency training twice each year. In addition, every flight is supported by a comprehensive Safety Management System that includes formal flight risk assessments, dedicated aviation safety leadership, and ongoing company-wide safety reviews.
Every team member selected to support our dog passengers aboard our BARK Air flights is chosen because of their extensive experience working with and handling dogs. That expertise is a cornerstone of the personalized, dog-first experience we've built from day one. As our operation has grown, we've continued to strengthen our training, refine our operational procedures, and invest in our people to ensure we deliver the safest and highest-quality experience possible.
While we recognize that not every former employee's experience will be the same, the characterization that safety concerns are ignored or that we do not foster a culture of open and constructive dialogue does not reflect our values. We are committed to creating an environment where team members are encouraged to raise questions, share feedback, and help us continuously improve. Safety, continuous learning, and operational excellence remain at the center of every decision we make and are fundamental to maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect from BARK Air.
We appreciate everyone who has contributed to BARK Air's journey and remain committed to providing a safe, thoughtful, and exceptional travel experience for every family who chooses to fly with us.
Our experience with Bark Air was…out of this world. The only suggestion would be to make the flights longer so we could have more time to enjoy the experience!
Our experience with Bark Air was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! From the initial reservation and customer service to the ground crew and attendants, every person went above and beyond to make our family feel comfortable and cared for. Ziggy and Bandit adored the pampering (and so did we!). The kindness, attention to detail, and truly first-class treatment blew us away. Even the blankets were amazing — the best we’ve ever had! Thank you, Bark Air, for making this such a memorable and special trip.

More Cramped than Economy Class
I flew London-New York both ways. I was seated in the most cramped seat in the back both trips with my dog who had no floor space and had to sit on my lap for take off and landing. Although the cost of tickets was multiples of first class commercial, it was worst than economy class. Going to the US took 11 hours since we had to stop and refuel. It was the most uncomfortable journey I’ve ever taken but the most expensive ever! A couple of seats in front had leg space but I got assigned the same terrible seat both trips. I will not fly them again. Alternative ways to transport your dog across Atlantic are K9 Air and Jets for Pets. Also, a group of dog owners (9 people) chartered their own private jet and saved over £2,000 per person (over cost of Bark Air). You can also take your dog on a cruise ship between UK and US. This would take several days but you would avoid the stress of flying with your dog. The seats on Bark Air are not equal. Do NOT sit in the back of plane. Stay away!
