Customer service people are unemotional robots. They don't know how to wish a person well. No "I hope you feel better", no "take care" nothing. It's like talking to 5th graders. Where do they dig up these stone cold humans to represent them?

This company is useless. Copays are ridiculus. They suck on the phone. Dont listen to what your saying and totally stupid people from outside the country. I am leaving to anothEr company as fast as possible. DO NOT SIGN WITH THESE THIEVES.

Worst insurance company I’ve ever had. My employer switched to Aetna this year and I have never had trouble with an insurance company until now. It’s been 2 months of waiting for an approval for an MRI, which means two months of awful pain. This year has been awful for my health and Aetna has made it even harder on me. Would not recommend. Blue cross was way better

Pray you don’t ever get told you need surgery or minor procedures that require prior authorization. You will not get it. MESSAGE TO EMPLOYERS CONSIDERING SWITCHING TO AETNA: if you truly care about your employees, please do NOT switch to them!!!

I work as a behavioral health provider, not an Aetna member, and they are by far the most difficult payer I've ever had to work with. Contracting, credentialing, and basic communication are all unnecessarily complicated. It's almost impossible to get clear answers, timely support, or a response at all. If you're a provider trying to partner with them, be prepared for delays, confusion, and a lot of wasted time. On a personal note, CVS Health never fails to mess up a prescription. Very rude staff who treat their employees poorly right in front of the customer. Maybe if Corporate was better or restructured, everyone would be happier. Just sad to see.

DO NOT GO WITH AETNA THIS COMPANY HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST. I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITH THEM FOR ALMOST A YEAR. I'VE ASKED NUMEROUS TIMES TO SPEAK WITH CASE MANAGER, STILL NO CONTACT. WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE YESTERDAY TO SPEND THE LAST $61 ON THE CARD BEFORE THEY EXPIRE. I KNEW I NEEDED MORE THAN THAT AMOUNT. SO I PAID FIRST WITH THE AETNA CARD AND $61 WAS CHARGED TO THAT CARD. THEN I PAID THE REMAINING BALANCE WITH MY BANK CARD. AETNA DECIDED TO PUT THE MONEY BACK ON THE CARD AND ALLOWED IT TO PAY FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT. LEAVING ME SHORT ON MY POWER BILL. I HAVE STORE RECEIPT AND BANK STATEMENT TO PROVE IT. THEY DID THIS CAUSE THE $61 EXPIRES THE NEXT DAY AT MIDNIGHT. THEY GET TO KEEP THAT MONEY AND CHARGE IT TO MY BANK. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. HUMANA GOLD IS WHAT I USED TO HAVE. THEY HAVE A DISAGREEMENT WITH MEDICARE OVER MONEY AND REFUSED TO PAY MY DOCTORS. SO I WAS FORCED TO GO TO AETNA. I PRAY DAILY FOR HUMANA TO GET IT SETTLED WITH MEDICARE SO I CAN GET BACK WITH THEM. ALL YEAR I'VE HAD TO PAY FOR SOME MEDICAL SUPPLIES $100 A MONTH. THAT NEVER HAPPENED WITH HUMANA. I AM GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH MEDICARE AGAINST AETNA. NOW I FIND OUT DOCTORS ARE NOT EVEN WANTING TO ACCEPT AETNA. WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO BE APPROVED BY MEDICARE? I'M GOING TODAY TO HANDLE THIS BS. THAT CRAP THEY PULLED YESTERDAY WAS THE FINAL STRAW. AND I KNOW BETTER THAN TO CALL AND ASK FOR A CASE MANAGER. THAT'S OBVIOUSLY NOT GONNA HAPPEN. BUT I WILL BE GETTING THAT MONEY BACK IN MY BANK ACCOUNT. STAY AWAY FROM AETNA IF YOU VALUE WHAT LITTLE DISABILITY YOU GET. WHEN I'M DONE THEY'LL NEVER FORGET ME.

I am 70 years old. I received a letter saying that my primary was no longer going to be in network, my primary and the medical facility she was working at tried repeatedly to get themselves reinstated with Aetna for some reason this did not happen. Aetna sent me a laundry list of doctors that I could choose from that the names I could not pronounce and probably couldn’t understand if I called. I am furious with that. I would advise anyone not to do business with Aetna I filed a grievance and I repeatedly called to find out the status of that grievance and no one has ever called me back. I have a serious health problem. I am a cancer survivor and I am without a doctor for four months. I am furious. I will wait four months until I can get away from Aetna during open enrollment and I hope that this doesn’t compromise my health any further than it already is but my advice to anyone stay far away from this insurance company. They are not concerned with your health or your best interest at all.

Avoid like the plague. This is the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. I've been trying to get an MRI for 3 months. They continue to decline.
