ADT Customer Service/Sales Rep. I have been a long term customer of ADT but recently the brand/the name/reputation/unethical behavior has left a bad experience in my book. I had a home for 18 years, and 17 years I was a ADT; a year ago, we sold our home; I received a call from ADT sales- they shared a package for the Apartment and as I am very thorough I asked many questions — one would I be able to opt out of the contract at any time, I know now the rep was under pressure, he told me yes of course and please sign the contract, I was driving at the time and he said could I sign once I pulled over. I blame myself trusting him and the nightmare began…One that he didn’t cancel the home alarm contract and locked me into a new contract to sell his equipment. so I was being charged on both ends and locking into this contract became the nightmare. Due to him being unethical/w lies about the system and also the contract. Apparently it was worth his unethical behavior which; which resulted in a short term gain/but long-term losing a customer for a brand that use to have a household name. $663 costly mistake on my end in trusting a brand name that I had used for my end…. Shame on me,but shame on ADT for pressurizing sales reps to build their brand on sinking sand. ADT was not willing to hear me out as a customer and sent me to collections. Yes, I gladly pay to end this relationship with ADT, but without warning consumers about ADT way of doing business. Shame on you ADT, especially when there are other competitors in the space now— I guess I should have adjusted with the times like Ring System — shame on me, but they will now have a long time/long-term/customer that will hopefully gain the trust that I once had with ADT. A sale is not just a sale anymore. With me having 30 years in the Aesthetic space, the brand and my brand resonates very strongly .

I had ADT for 20 years and tried to cancel and I had to call 4 times to actually speak with the right person. I was to receive a call back but it never arrived. I was sent by a representative to an automated area that continued to ask why I was cancelling and the only way to get out was to hang up and call again. When I finally reached someone who could help she kept me on the phone for over 1 hour. She was trying to convince me to stay, based on the extremely hard sale, she was probably being paid a commission if she got me not to cancel. The next day I got a bill for another 6 months of service, even though the account had been cancelled and ADT confirmed that the account was canceled but wanted to be paid for another 6 months. This is the worst and most dishonest company I have ever done business with. I have reported them to every governmental agency available.

Never go with ADT security. First of all they are expensive of the lot where they will lock you for 3 years. Then when you cancel the service, it's an horrendous experience. Even after calling them a month in prior to stop the service and cancel the subscription. They will never cancel and you get charged monthly. I would have spent 3 hrs with their representatives, calls being passed on to each departments finally without a solution. The refund is not immediate. One has to wait for the billing cycle to close. My cancellation was moved with out my consent and in spite of my prior notice to cancel. Very pathetic service and would not want any one to go through this pain. Now I am reading many have faced similar issues with them. Pls stay away and you have enough cheaper option available in the market without being locked on a contract.

Sleazy ADT Scam No 1. 1 ADT was informed of a death of its customer, and continued to bill the customer for months 2 In order to close the account, ADT Service Center insist that I tell them the Vocal Password (Note, the only person who would know that code is the Deceased Customer) 3 ADT disabled the Login to MyADT for the Primary Account and Secondary Account, which denied access to the account information, billing, and setup. 4 ADT gives a phone run-around to various departments when contacting ADP various occasions. 5 IN the meantime, ADT continues to bill the Deceased Customer Account for months. Scumbag ADT Scam No 2 ADT creates an account and bills my account, but at the same time, continues billing the Deceased Account, both at the same address known as Double-Billing. When informed of this, ADT refers me to another company whose phone number has “technical problems.” Irresponsible ADT Schedules an appointment for a Service Person to come out (not requested by me) to do whatever to the system AND bill for services. The Security System worked fine therefore there was no need to touch the system and BILL for ??? services. ADT calls an few minutes before their scheduled appointment range (Noon to 4pm) to state that the technician was ill and they need to reschedule the appointment a few days later. Not acceptable (ADT only has 1 technician and he/she is sick right before 4pm). Slimy ADT Unauthorized Billing I authorized a setup charge for $25.00 to be applied to a credit card. The credit card is not authorized for any other use. ADT charges the credit card for additional charges and fails to inform me. Upon noticing the unauthorized charges in my credit card account, I called ADT and the ADT Accounting Crook tried to inform me the purpose of the charges. If ADT were honest, they would have called me to inform me of the charges and requested a payment method. TOTALLY DISHONEST

I used ADT for about 4.5 years. Never had an issue but then never had a break-in. When out of town, my motion sensor was activated, ADT called I did not receive the phone call; they contacted my back up who stated I think shes out of town, call the police. Instead ADT cancelled the alarm. To this day I do not know why the alarm was cancelled. Hours after the alarm I saw on my security camera window screens laying on the ground, called ADT and screamed, call the police. Police arrived to find a mother bear and her 3 cubs inside my home; she had broken through a closed kitchen window. Police got rid of the bears, called me promptly back and said I better get home soon to secure the window before they return. I returned that morning to a huge mess and to ascertain damage. I tried calling ADT; no supervisor available; someone would call me back in 2 days. Noone ever called me back in 4 weeks. I had a different company put in a system and then I called ADT to cancel. Only time I spoke with a person, who acknowledged the issue and said 'so sorry that happened' and you will be charged a $400 early termination fee. I wrote a letter detailing specifically what had occurred, the reason I was cancelling and that I should not be charged any fees at all due to ADT's negligence in providing their stated service. They billed me, I paid it and now I want everyone and anyone thinking about a security system to bypass ADT. They have the bucks to advertise big and have the name brand but please look at customer reviews. They average 1.5 stars for a reason. No customer service, no reliability and then your house may be broken into and they might just turn off the alarm. Steer clear of ADT; there are many very reliable, up do date, customer service oriented companies out there.

This is the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with. They dispatched a technician to my home to install equipment. The technician stole from my residence and upon trying to contact him thru his business card once it was discovered-He never responded. I contacted the Corporate Office to cancel the services and to date I am still waiting for a refund. The company is not regulated and they have several sub companies in which they are partnered with. The communication is non-existent and these 3rd parties they send out are clueless. When contacting the company you are kept on hold for up to 30 minutes or more and when someone finally answers they persistently pass you on to various other departments. There is no structure or corroboration between internal departments and you're constantly being transferred over to someone who blatantly LIES about departmental transactions. RUN don't walk when considering doing business with ADT. I promise you will regret it!!!!!

I had ADT services for four years for the past two years my house has been broken into several times they don’t get the alarm signals their technician had a bad attitude and they don’t owner their manger ‘s words a technician come to my house yesterday and after he left the branch manager decided that it was a chargeable call Without my knowledge they charge me a lot of money for no reason one of their manger told me I was not going to be charge ,however they don’t owner their words .I am very unhappy with their service that is why I have Sloman security system .
